we are taught by the rain

the soft water,
the heavy tears

a mother who runs a bath, without asking
she just knows

trench coats are worn only if you care
about getting wet

when you swim in the ocean,
you do not know the difference

learn
to float

to catch the droplets
on your tongue

to run naked through puddles
forget your galoshes at home

and you will understand
this is a custom poem written for a giveaway winner.

Who are you?
In case you forgot
Let my words
be a soft reminder
You are amazing

Who are you?
Right where you are
in this moment
Who do others see
Are you hinding behind a veil
A mask afraid to reveal
the real you

Who are you?
Allow me to share
in case you forgot
You have strength and wisdom
that exceeds Well
Beyond your years
You just don’t know it yet

Who are you?
You are capable
of doing amazing things
Things that will help others
In their time of need

Who are you?
You can inspire others
from your life’s journey
You can even inspire yourself
Just think about all
You have accomplished
Up to this point

Who are you?
You are incredible
You’re precious
You’re irreplaceable
You’re loved
You’re cherished
You’re the prize
You’re perfectly amazingly beautiful
Just the way you are.
If you feel lost , disappointed, hesitant, or weak , return to yourself to who you are . Here and there and when you get there , you will discover yourself , like a lotus flowers in full bloom , beautiful and strong and that’s who you are to the core ;)

No
No poetry today.
No words for the despair.
No calming the fears.
No poetry today.
Dominique Oct 2018
October is chapped lips on burned coffee
Ashes on ashes as fingers entwine-
Ah, October, a familiar tightening of chest
A blue siren sparked by paranoid fire
A dream, a whirlwind
Ending and beginning in horror so thick
You forget life offers cherry blossoms, too.
Bring me a ***, you say,
Your lungs have never tasted as black
And the lack of light ignites the desire
To fill your getaway backpack with flame.
People oblige in October but this scares you too-
Smiles are lullabies for the apathetic and dying
You'd rather be alone.
October is songs by the Smiths and stolen jumpers
Fading scabs under fingertips
Lost compositions and badly held chords.
In short, October is ******* terrifying
And you're so used to it that it almost feels
Like home.
This is one I wrote ages ago but nonetheless true

Just when I think I've finished fading,
Something makes me leave even more.
I never stop disappearing
Weird little one from October last year
I guess I'm better now?

There is a little river that I sit by when I'm sad,
I'll stay there everyday
until I'm no longer mad.
When the rains fall down
upon my head,
I'll shelter under cover
of the trees growing tall
by the river.

There is a little river where I can be all alone.
No one can find me there
I can disappear and disappear.
