Depression is...
Drowning but watching everyone breathe
Playing hide and go seek; never to be found
Acting; but not for a play
Depression is me losing my mind behind closed doors
Depression is digging my grave
I have become depression,
**You're next...

SHE
She is a mystery
She is.. the greatest form of poetry
She, who would rather hide than be seen
Holds no beginning and knows no end
She comes to life when everything around her appears to be dead
She makes me feel a high, electric, body rush
She creates goosebumps down my spine with just the slightest touch
She dreams
She believes
She is someone you can't decieve
She sees the lies, beneath your eyes
She is someone you can't run from or can't hide
She is the never ending memory that takes refuge inside my mind at night
She is gold
She is light that fills my soul
She is peace that keeps me in control
She is gentle
Her body is a temple
Mounted on the highest pedestal
Without reason to ever feel resentful
When I'm high
When I'm coming down
When I'm feeling sentimental
She is there
She is pure
She is rare
She is someone for whom I will always care
And through it all
She just might
She just maybe

This Is For You

Life and death
Light and dark
The beginning and the end
All are parallel but never intersect;
Showing different perspectives; showing uniqueness
Everything has its art; nothing has its art
The satisfied and the unsatisfied
The black holes and stars
The past and the future
Now, I could tell which is which; then, I could not
The deeps and the shallows
The vast and the narrow
The love and the hate
The pleasure and the pain
The smiles and the frowns
Give me more and give me less
Count, or rather, number my days of forever; give me the exact measurement of an object
From macro to micro
Play wisely or foolishly
Know thy words, know mine
Welcome or goodbye
For better or for worse
There are things that are forbidden and things that are just not
Some things are hidden, and some things are revealed
Pay attention; listen
You’ll choose either this or that
Remember, this is for you

Once upon a time
You found joy in simple things
It was a jar of baby carrots
Now it's two carat diamond rings

Once upon a time
Every ounce of you was hope
You always prepared for the best
Now you prepare yourself to cope

Once upon a time
That smile didn't leave your face
Now when you feel it on your lips
You press it down until it's straight

Childhood you
Was a bit naive
But now that you're grown up
You've lost the courage to believe

It's easy to be cynical
Bad things are all over, after all
We're all business, things hardly impress us
But maybe that's our downfall

So think like you did once upon a time
And don't worry about being understood
Look around, lift your eyes off the ground
And find joy in anything good

Go ahead and stay hopeful
Being let down sometimes
Is better than being hopeless
And staying down at all times

Childhood you
Was a bit naive
Or perhaps more in-tune
With what happiness means

Let the rhythm of our hearts
nurture the sweet blossom of love,
so that it may turn into bliss
dissolved from the night time air between us
and shower such rain which binds the growth of our love and roses
together.

silence slowly settles around me like a warm blanket
buckets of sunlight spill thru the torn clouds
my september mind wanders its backwoods dream
masters each slow footfall imprinted on the soft textured ground
my path clearly carved into my minds fading yesterday thoughts
never quiet except in the soft kiss of warm humid breeze

we stood there
in the darkness
holding hands
your fingers moved ever so gently in my stiff grip
you knew the track and taste of my world
your words echo there without the
image reminding me of childhoods sails of a stormy sea

now you look into my eyes
without a word
you see me

Depression: To me it's like you're falling deeper into the darkest depths of the ocean. Where all the mysterious creatures and monsters lurk around you, including the ones that have yet to be discovered. Your vision is blurred, you can't breath, and you're positive you won't come out alive.
I was thinking about my grandmother who died in May, and my friend Angel who died by "accidental overdose" when I wrote this. I've been thinking a lot of mortality and what the human experience really is.
