A sadness I had

created for myself

that killed my

heart in the end,

was I never had you

to have lost you

and I can't blame you

for my pretend

remember the days of when we were younger
we thirsted from birth and we hunted with hunger
running and laughing under skies of thunder
we were sisters and brothers in a world of wonder
Be who you want to attract,
Before you start "searching" for the right person,
Be the right person,
Find yourself,
Be comfortable with who you are,
Find happiness within you,
If someone is the only basis of your joy,
I'm afraid,your joy might be a mirage.
Sorry but its only in fairytales where frogs get to kiss princesses lol..

You made a poet fall in love with you
And expected her not to write sonnets about your eyes
Haikus about the way you kissed her in the moonlight
Expected the fire in her heart not to inspire couplets
You made a poet fall in love with you, and when you left
Expected her not to write pages about the ache in her chest
Write a soliloquy dedicated to her tears
Expected her not to feel every gut wrenching moment of the pen hitting paper like your words hit her in the most vulnerable places of her mind.
You made a poet fall in love with you, and you expected her to be silent.
That is no fault of hers.

Some things are inevitable,
Like the sun slipping,
Everyday into the shadows,
So the moon can rise and shine,
For the night,
Some things,
Like the sea,
Eventually reaching the shore,
No matter how many times,
She tries to float away,
Some things,
Like a love that was written in stone,
Before the lovers knew what love was about,
And some people (like me),
Stand at a crossroads,
Knowing that some things are inevitable,
Knowing that some things,
Are never meant to be

we fell like the leaves
blew away in the wind
a warm heart only believes
that love will never end

i should have known
there would come a day
when the winds would blow
and birds would fly away

a bare branch heaves
swinging in the wind
there's no warm reprieve
the cold is setting in

segregated churches
segregated souls

segregated freedom
segregated dreams
segregated whispers

segregated neighbors
segregated homes
segregated doorways
segregated zones

segregated people
segregated minds
segregated signals
segregated signs

segregated graveyards
segregated souls
segregated shovels
dig segregated holes

When I look up,
I don't see stars
I see the galaxies in your eyes.
I watch as they swirl
and spin in dizzying ways.
The sight is mesmerizing.
You are my black hole,
and I would willingly fall into oblivion
if I could just be with you.
