vinny
scoffing at this world
rules and expectations
laws are for suckers
you never pay taxes

your a cash business
run by a ceo
with a libido
that never relaxes

listen to the voices
we pay for our choices
they beg to ask:
is your soul intact?

like random coordinates
punched into navigation
once a promising future
now an unknown destination

very
very sudden
like the cream whitens coffee

like the sun
explodes on the horizon

like stars appear
before the dark
and the moon
chases the sun
from the sky

like things good
happen
Karma catches you dreaming

kittens are cute and
mischievious
and puppies cute

and the dream
is all those
and more
and can not be

metaphored
she met him
at a poetry site
where fondness did bloom
toward a fellow poet
of beguiling write

nowadays their quills
do entwine
in a love bounty
so divine

Today I wake
with a brainstorm in my head

Rebirth
who know's
Just feeling good
in the canyons of the mind
I will wonder through your brain
the cold winds will blow in your mind's eye
as I wonder through your brain
to ventricles of your heart
that throb in a certain symmetry with mine
in a passionate beat.

Don't you just hate waking like that?
Love P@ul.

Solaces
Sometimes I ask for you.
Sometimes I look for you.
Most times I think of you.
Most times I smile in thought.

Sometimes I love you.
Sometimes I miss you.
Most times I want to meet with you.
All times I can't.

Sometimes I dream about you.
Sometimes I wonder if you dream about me.
Most times I run into you the next day.
All times we both smile.
Sometime ago.

you didn't just love my body
you fell in love with my mind
it's amazing how you saw my soul
and touched my body without your hands

when it came time to become a worshipping man
I sought the word between the meanings
saw spaces as the time I wandered long
returns like the zip of a typewriter carriage
returning
tip and type and sit and wonder
with no meanings
far off in memory land a few novels
and the Bible and Koran
and Bodhisatva
the poems of long lost men who died with no paper
before those wise men
How much I ask
has been lost of wiser things
that no more exist but
in the ether?

i never get far without stumbling
that's why i have a long litany of saints to call upon
they must be saints because otherwise they would have given up on me long ago, and because the evidence is to the contrary, i keep stumbling and calling, and they keep picking up the pieces.

Just like the wind before it was named,
we were one.
Just like the skies--whether blue, black, or gray,
we were one.
Before time was night and day,
we were one.
And before water became seas, rivers, and lakes,
we were one.
But the colors became powers,
And these differences of ours,
Named the weak and the strong,
and the right and the wrong.
When freedom became property
And feelings became tragedy,
That's when love emerged a warrior,
And time a dictator.
Long were the days when life was like the wind
And the skies, and the day and the night.
And the seas and the rivers and lakes,
One before the reconstructions of time.
Long were the days of the free,
But those days were long gone.
And with every peek of the setting sun,
I remember the time,

When we were one.
