when we look sideways
at a subject/object of desire

do we see what is there
or what we want to see

glances may blur the image
    distort the view
    reflect realities of our dreams

yet often they determine our actions

and thus

the rest of our lives

tired, I fall asleep
lonely, I fall apart
my broken soul sinking

we learned the same words but
not the same language

we sing the same notes but
not the same song

we walk the same road but
not the same paths

we didn't do right but
not the same wrong.

Before we had divided,
We loved each other to no end,
Until you had crossed the line.

When our paths again collided,
My idea of you started to bend.
You got me thinking about when you were mine.

You just want my innocence.
You don't really want my heart.
Maybe you just hate the thought of me loving someone new.

You just liked my appearance.
And now that we're apart,
Is this your way of making sure that I'm not getting over you?
Help me let go of you.

Not Iraqi, nor Irani
With ancestors, Pakistani
And some fine roots
From India
But my main roots
Arabia
Did spent some time
In Austria
And later on
In Syria
Now heartbroken
And writing poems
In language of
Britannia
I'm heartbroken
Cause I lost you
Your heart is where
I'm calling home
Since its the place
Of which I can
Honestly say
I'm coming from.
Officially, I am an Iraqi born in Iran, but sometimes I really have to think hard about where I am really from :-). If we look closer however, all people are international , and the only place we can call home is the heart in which we find love.

Home*?
A person, not a place!
And I'm homeless
With no space
To be myself
With someone else
To be with you
And not alone...
If you really think about it, home is not a place but a person with whom you can be yourself and without you really feel lonely and homeless
