In the midst of my mind
Hopelessly trying to organize
The information that flooded in
From five different directions
I could speak just one word
Through my body
And out of my mouth:
Raw͵
I said.
And so I was.
And so it was then that I could accept my own existence of that moment
Because of the perfect word...
Raw.
The surface on my skin,
Scars and grime,
A protective opacity,
Had been scrubbed off
Leaving me raw,
But all of me.
Clean,
Sore,
Fragile, and gentle.
Ready to grow and heal.
A full, deep breath,
The air and I inhaled eachother.
