Artaxerxes
For so long you've craved my touch
The feel of my arms around you
The warmth of my breath on the back of your neck
To feel my heart beat against yours
and rightfully so
I know that I am broken
What YOU don't know about is all of the times that I try
I TRY to hold you
I WANT to put my arms around you
I WISH that our bodies were pressed against one another
I KNOW THAT I'M BROKEN and so ...
So in the stillness of our early morning hours
window open, bedroom welcoming the breeze
the artificial staccato of rain in the air
despite my fears and to say nothing of the miles between us in our bed
I move over, inching closer to you
Blood warming, Heart quickening
Once flesh meets flesh...this should be HOT
My right foot slides across the bed to rest up against yours
I slide my body even closer to yours now
sure that you will meet me any second
warmer... quicker
And from her mouth...a soft giggle and these words

"You have all that room and I'm like, right on the edge"

I moved back to my side,  without so much as hinting of the disappointment and rejection that I felt

Amazing how two people can want the SAME thing and
yet, somehow... we still found a way to miss each other
In the confines of our own bed!
(A soft sigh with a frustrated, gentle smile)  Note to you:
I stopped by to see you this morning, you were half asleep I fear
Do wait up for me tonight!
Anticipation is SUCH a rush ~
;~
We are all books
Just waiting to be read
Or a thought,
Deep inside
Just waiting to be said
We are judged from the outside
Our covers you see,
Are the only part you decide read

But next time you decide to look at me,
Open me up because
I'm a mystery
Don't judge a book by its cover!

Did you think a kiss
would buy my everlasting affection
that you only needed to caress my skin
and I was yours for life?

A woman needs a man with soul
one who knows how to empathise
who can hear her speak
and leaves her feeling whole

Hands and lips
have a lot of lies to answer for

Today I got the urge to stand out in the pouring rain.
In the hope that maybe,
It might wash away the pain.
Wash away my sadness,
Wash away my fears,
And besides...in the pouring rain,
No one can see your tears.
Wrote this a while ago on the spot one early rainy morning when i was feeling a little down. And yes it's a little bit generic, and not the best I know-but hey i'm a novice! Criticism and thoughts etc appreciated :)

loving you

"I'm loving you",
she said.
not "I love you",
which is what most people say,
which is what I would have said --
"I'm loving you."
because it was an ongoing action,
not just a passive state,
because she was loving me
while I was reading, or cooking.
it wasn't something like
"how do you feel?" "I feel good."
"what do you love?" "you, dear."
-- no.
no, loving is a verb, an act,
one that takes patience and time
and perseverance.
"I'm loving you", she said,
and her tone was casual or
almost indifferent, maybe,
as if she had said "I'm cleaning
the house", as if it should follow
"what are you doing today?",
she said the words as if they were
positively ordinary, but they weren't.
people tend to ask
"do you smoke?" or "do you drink?"
or "what do you believe in?"
-- habitually, passively --
and she said
"I'm loving
(and loving and loving)
you."

bones
The last man alive
raised his gun
and emptied it
into the sun
as it sank
out of sight
left alone
in the night
he couldn't decide
what he'd won.
what will we do when
there is nothing left to ****
and nothing left to die for?
... you have to step
back
in order to

move forward
