Hope

Hope is tired.
He is an old man, beaten down,
Worn out by the disappointment
Of expectations.
Every now and then the sun comes out
And hope is renewed,
Transformed into an infant:
Fresh, naïve, a blank slate
Upon which the world will write.
Without hope we would be nothing,
Life would no longer exist,
And the vacuum of anti-matter,
That makes up space, would be its successor.
Hope puts ideas in our minds
And laughter in our souls.
It brings tears to our eyes,
And despair to our hearts.
Hope is the basis, the foundation
For all emotion, thought and action
Because it provides us with the power of reasons:
A reason to love and breathe
And a reason to sleep and eat;
A reason to be ourselves and a reason to
Live the life we are meant to live.
Every right denied; every dream deferred
Every injustice and indignity endured
Is one more paper cut
They are cumulative
And deadly as any gun or knife
This is written in the days follwing the American election.  Please do not stand silent; do not turn a blind eye and a deaf ear whie the rights of dispossed and marginalized communities are "Trumpled!"

This is for all my brothers and sisters in the black community, the Hispanic community, the Muslim community, the disabled community and the LGB community...and MOST ESPECIALLY for my sisters and brothers in the transgender community.  Tomorrow is Transgender Day Of Remembrance.  Please hold us in your thoughts and your hearts as we grieve those dear sisters and brothers taken from us in the past year by violence based on hate.
Repentance is a pittance
If paid to the church,
But seeking forgiveness
Of those you have actually wronged
Properly paying them back,
Not keeping prisons packed
With some whites but mostly blacks,
Is were wrongs are made as right
As they can be.
Break the chains of rage, link by link
Each one falling fiercely to the earth
Expelling hurtful ways that you think
As you accept all love in your rebirth

The weightlessness so overwhelming
Your fingers stretch to the open sky
Complete control over how you’re feeling
Full awareness and your soul starts to fly

Sometimes you’ll stop for a quick little break
Into rich soil let your long roots sink
For nurturing others is simply your fate
& sometimes that means staying in one place

So beautifully does it make your heart sing
Now that your doing has turned into being
Embracing your wings as you lift off again
See you next landing, wherever and when
Dedicated to my beautifully inspirational mother in law, Sarah. I love you, Mama!

lovely
When he tells you he loves you and that you mean the world to him, dont believe him. Tell him that cliche phrase "actions speak louder than words." Because in all reality, it's the truth. He needs to prove it. He needs to show you just how much you mean to him. Whether it's driving to your house at 2 a.m. to hug you and tell you he was thinking about you, or even just a late night phone call. If he doesn't kiss you and tell you that his stomach burns with passion and he needs more, or even just simply pull you closer, kissing you more, he doesn't love you. He shouldn't get tired of your touch. If he can't sit in a room with you in pajamas and your hair up, with no make up on, just watching a movie or discussing life, he doesn't love you. He needs to be able to show his feelings without having to feel you physically. If he can't look at you and smile because you're smiling, he doesn't love you. He should adore every last piece of you and not want anything else. He needs to portray his love to you in more than one way, and you shouldn't settle for any less than that.
