Ice crystal image genuflection upon the ground
Frosted wind passes around you it speaks with a howling sound
Sleet smooths your surface your body of crystal mirrors portray your soul
Sun light captured within you speaks a language of answered prayers
Rainbow whispers of reassurance to this purity of soul, the woman who kneels upon the ground of freshly fallen snow.

we talk of the perfect winter together
a fantasy that will be reality soon enough
but the truth is
we met in the summer
and fell in love by autumn
so let the winter wonderland come
and let spring give way to new sun

Hello everyone,

I'm so very sorry … I feel horrible doing this, but I have no choice. You see, I have published my first book on Amazon/Kindle! This piece (and many others) had to be taken down because they do not allow published material to be available online for free. (Go figure) I wanted to leave the shell of the posts because I felt compelled to leave all your helpful and loving comments. (Silly sentimental, I know), but I also didn't want to just have the pieces disappear without an explanation. I feel bad enough as it is!

I owe ALL of you so, SO much for all of your reads, love, and support. It was YOU that gave me the gumption to FINALLY get off my **** and publish! Thank you all for the warm comments, camaraderie, and encouragement! I will still be here, reading, uploading and just being the Rascal that I am. How could I EVER leave you guys?

The book is called “The Way I See It – FictionPhilosophySoul Food” and it will be FREE for the first few days on Kindle Select, so watch for it, if you are interested. I hope that you go and grab it. If you do, I would also hope that you find it worthy, you would leave me a good review. That will help me get in the public eye! Soon afterward (2-3 days or so), it will be available in paperback.

Find the book(s) here: www.amazon.com/author/jeff.gaines

Or find the book(s), and all about me, here: www.JeffGaines.world

Soon after, I also hope to have my first novel (a supernatural thriller), called “Wanderer” available as well!

  Wish me luck!
Big, Biggest Love,
        Jeff Gaines
Haven't we ALL had this dream at one time or another?

The weather speaks its wintery tale
On this last day of April
Sending mayhem into bush and tree
Shaking the blossoms in their break
For bud.
The Bride drops her veil
Under Flowering Cherry wings
Red Camelia broaches
Fall as from a night at the theatre
Lost forever in a carpet of dreams.
Around the perimeter
Everything sways
And the blue cloaked conductor
Orchestrates from
The washing line .

Ever since that afternoon, artichokes,
To me, are creatures of the sea.
They’re a chosen species, daylily stars
With softened points, salt-lipped,
Afloat in olive oil, something
So Mediterranean about them,
Aqua-spirals, flat wings of green-white light,
As if their closed leaves could tie up
Landlocked clouds. Egg-shaped, heart-shaped,
Protective layers overlapping, they speak
In wet kisses, gently caressing the tongue
With a blizzard of soft flavours.
They embrace all wines, distract all meats,
Flirt with bread, politely invite dessert –
Sweetheart vegetables willing to be dressed
In bikinis or burkas, soft-centred lovables,
The most delicate of palettes seduced
By their siren song.

My world is a fairground.
A terrifying roller coaster ride that never ends.
Stomach lurching, gut wrenching, adrenaline flooding , heart thumping.
You are forced to take a seat ..but I know you detest the thrill seeker.
And yet somehow I have signed you up.

This theme park has a dark side Dear one, within lies chaos too.
To join me is  to balance on the steepest precipice,
The sharpest, thinnest knife edge.
For fear of eruption , explosion - anger like molten lava spilling from the volcano.

I take you high sometimes - up and up.
A fleeting taste of what could be bliss.
Outer shell discarded just for a moment.
A glimpse of the unguarded woman within.

Only to tear you from your stillness.
The Merry go round once more.
Falling! falling! stomach lurching, white knuckle horror.
To love me is a feat indeed .
