The Messiah Complex
To the less discerning eye, we are gold
glittering its distraction, scars hidden behind
angles and misdirection

Empty souls on parade
vying for attention

When will we learn
our flaws are what make us different
our flaws are what make us the same
all we are, and all we're not

*Let them shine
Inspired by
Daniel Allinson's "Shame of the Selfie" &
an old saying my grandmother used to tell me
"Everything that glitters isn't gold"

Incessant rains lend a mystical landscape
Rejuvenating lives which lay dormant
Blessed with a new lease of life and vigor
Praying to the sky to shower us with grace
Free spirits are filled to the brim, with joy
Dancing to the music of happy souls
Running towards the end of the Earth
An unhindered view of the misty hills
Wondering, the lucky ones residing there
Who can touch the clouds and play hide-n-seek
I feel the rain washing away my last bit of pain
I am but a part of nature, sharing the happiness
Rains galore, fill each and every crevice of pain
With the new hope of life, from which we can gain
Mystical landscape, a breathtaking view
The rains have opened up a new way of life
Full of hope and brimming with joy, I welcome the rains

Carbonation
In the perforations
Of my pupils
Pops
Like one million little
Tiny bubbles
Swirling to the top
And I am lit

Just like a lantern on the lawn
I sway with wind 'til
Night is gone
Tumble with you
Toward the dawn

By Petal Pie and Sverre G. Holter.

These oceans are named *Between.

Yes, I know them all.
They've separated me before
By water's solid wall.

But I imagine when I
Jump and make a splash
At my local Brighton beach
That ripple travels
To your shore so
You're never out of reach!

And at these rugged shores
That ripple reaches land.
As good as any letter penned,
A wave; an outstretched hand.

Like a message in a bottle
I hope it reaches you
Every nuance of my love and care
Dripped in oceans blue

Much more comfort in that
Bottle, than the one before
Me now. Its insides shared
With me; still I am emptier
...somehow.

Well you can't run on empty
So let me fill your cup
With seashells whispers
Wisdom pearls
And jellied joy to
Fill you up

A whispered wish
An uttered prayer.
That space that pushes
Here from there to
Disappear; give room for
Place to share as lair,
There's places everywhere...
If you meet people in your dreams,
ask them their names and
favorite color, favorite number, birthday, etc.
and also try to take note
of the names of the places you encounter.

For they are all parts of your Mind;
figments of your imagination
or, perchance,
genuine astral experiences.

I wonder what could be learned
from such mysterious rendezvous.
I know I've written music that I heard in a dream. I like it. It pushes my bounds of familiarity while still being wholly of my own creation.

Poetic T
The thoughts crowd me
Scratch at my mind,
A thousand crows fly around
It rains black,
Feathers float down
In slow motion like snow
Each different, unique,
They continue to fall.
My mind confused the feathers
Bloat out light of thought
Confusion,
Disorientation,
Am I losing my mind
I see a mirror dive though
Serine,
Calm,
Like after a storm,
The thoughts that scratched
Now flown away,
All that is left is a single feather,
A reminder that thoughts
Can claw, scratch at your mind
Consume you in darkness,
But wash it away,
And all that is left is you and a clam mind.
Be not a slave to the ways
in which things have been done,
but, rather,
take charge of the ways
in which things could be done.

Up North, by the Russian border,
It gets so cold your breath
Freezes and floats to your
Feet in a fountain of
Sparkling microsmithereens.

Sibirians call it
Whispering Stars.
I swear on my name it's a
Sight beyond description, with

Northern Lights coiling like
Mating snakes
On a sky so full of moon and
Stars it's almost alien

Above you.
Easiest peace.
The sound of Gods
Meditating.

Silence itself opens its
Quiet eyes and looks into yours
Like a living abyss you look down,
Looking back.

The purest of Existence's
Everythings.
The now cry in
Snow Crystals.

Zen in

Frozen.

I wish I hadn't made those friends
That my mother didn't want me to
(As if their mothers didn't warn them
About the likes of myself).

I would have stayed on the path
To a doctor's in psychology,
Not ending up in construction;
I'd be neither broke nor bleeding.

I wish I had been convinced as young
That brushing your teeth properly
Will save you hours of working
Your hands to shreds to pay the dentist.

I wish I'd never gotten any of these
Tattoos. That "home made scarification
Is cool only before the infection,"
Was as given to me at thirteen as now.

I wish I'd fallen so in love with my
First girlfriend that we'd be married
With children+dog today, knowing only
The love of each other's.

I wish I hated whisky. That my
Fuse got longer with every stout
Consumed. And with that, the certainty
That I never could dance. Jig. Ever.

I wish it was all different.
I'd have nothing to sulk about alone
In a double bed. No foot-in-mouth
Memories to still bring me shame,

No failures. No mistakes.
No painful blows or signs of poor
Judgement. Nothing to fret over.
No blame to give myself.

Nothing to cry until I shiver about.
No caring hands to have to live without.
No lost love's name to whisper,
Moan. Shout.
Nothing at all to write about.
