It's 11pm and
I still haven't eaten yet,
been drinking
alcohol and coffee
to fill my stomach.
Maybe you'll love me better
if I was prettier, skinnier,
if I just wasn't me.
Your name is in the bottom
of every bottle, your lips
are stained where my mouth
falls on this cup of coffee,
and your breath is falling
out of my cigarettes and
into my mouth.

The odds of being struck by lightning
Are one in 3,000
I watched from a window
As 13 people that were not me
Got struck by it
Just a few feet away
From where I was standing
And I am left thinking
About how that could have so easily
Been me
Out of curiosity
I looked up odds in a lifetime
I wanted to know
How often things happen
What came up
Consisted only of odds of dying
And I laughed
Thinking
About all of the other odds
That were more important than death
That were more interesting
Than freak accidents
And demise
How about the odds of meeting someone
With the same exact name
Or the odds
Of loving someone who loves the same stuff
As you do
The odds
Of throwing a perfect game in baseball
Are one in 18,192
The odds of finding your soulmate
Are one in 10,000
And more people are concerned
Of getting bit by a shark than finding love
The chances of that happening
Are one in 11.5 million
Sharks are not the enemy
We are
If you ask me
I would say
I'd much rather focus
On the rare positives
There are good things that happen daily
That happen unexpectedly
It is better to hope for those
Than worry about ones unlikely
You can measure the past
All you want
Give it numbers
And try predict future
But one thing you cannot do
Is measure life.

My heart is
Numb
All I feel is heaviness
Each breathe
I take..
Even smiling
Hurts my head
& laughing
Is out of the
Picture

I have faith that i can break free from the cage
I'm locked up in can u just give me the keys so I can be free
All I wanna do is have a good fun life that too much to ask ?
God helps me I pray for forgiveness & some how I get it not quickly
But least it happens at least for me anyways
Have faith in me I can be a better person learn from mistakes and try
To not make them again its hard
Each step away is closer to becoming free
Faith lies in my heart you can see it as I blink
                        Through my eyes

if i sit perfectly still
if i hold my breath
i can almost picture you here
my heart captivated
but nothing compares
like being next to you
in all the sublime scents tastes sounds feelings that
that flood my senses when your here
you are an ocean of existence i swim
that place where the heart blooms like springtime's kiss
you are light as air
filled with flowers and sunshine
your summers joys and sweet romances
you are timeless
from the moment i set eyes on you time ceases
like deep winters night safe in the arms of love
you are a woman
the only woman that has ever been
will ever be
you are....perfect
if i sit perfectly still
if i hold my breath
and close my eyes
i can feel you
and you feel like sunlight

Come together people
and
write this poem

The end of war
we know it's coming

It's gotta come now
there's no more time
to
wait
The Blue Orchid
it's wilting in space.

The power of peace
it's gotta get moving
"If you're not part of the solution
You're part of the problem"

You hurt me
I hurt you
You **** my sister
I **** you too
You **** my child
I slaughter more.

"War War
what is it good for? "

Come together people
and
hear the cry
the mourners are suffering
but
forgiveness survives.

The dead don't dance
too many on the ground
listen
listen
We can still hear the human sound.

Come together people
and
write this poem
The one that will get
peace going.

It's been one too many centuries
no more time for this disease
eradication for this plague
the anecdote
only our words
can say

We can all share in this
our
Poem Of The Day.
"Part of the solution. . ." Eldridge Cleaver, 1968.
"War,  what's it good for", 1970, Edwin Starr.
Steve's 153rd hippie dream.
Could you take this broken heart
this funeral beat, this withered soul
and take it back there to the start
to love again and make it whole.

Could you take these doleful eyes
of faded green, once emerald bright
and bring them up to meet with yours
to fill them with your loving light.

Could you love me in this moment
disregard my broken bones
shattered by another's longing
take my hand and lead me home.

If you could, not everlasting,
for a second, suspend time
would you press into my darkness
to place your healing hand in mine.

This I ask with humbled chorus
not for better, nor for worse,
the love you give it will not linger
let your blessing be my curse.

As younger, I'd look to
The skies and ask
For a warrior's death; to
Die with my shoes on,
Protecting something
With my blood.

Now I ask to live a
Lifetime with my shoes
Off. Humble before
Gods and family.
Protecting everything.
With my life.

YOU
One too less,
into two I pour,
three and we divide,

Up goes walls,
Providing insides.
What within resides..

An 'I' seeing you.
But can you see through
The illusion of divide like I do?
connect!

A picture's worth
One thousand words,
Yet there's only  one word
In "Selfie?"
The "I" creates
One thousand shots,
So shooters
Do your worse.

Drowning in a tunnel of lies
Darkness floods my soul
Reaching up for my last breath
A glimpse of hope flickers
As the light of truth seeps through
Birthing a seed of life within death!*
