A child was born
And he was crying
Until he heard the voice of her Mama
It was a breath that beats like his.
And for the very first time,
He looked into someone's eyes.

On the other side,
The boy heard a husky voice
With a low tone and suddenly,
It was a voice of an expert.

A loving yet not so tender like the first one.
The boy gazed at him
As he carries him
It's as if he's facing his likeness
And it's kinda weird
Having some hair on some areas of his face –
It was the first time he saw that.

When you go we don’t say much
We never kiss, we never touch
Your old dog begins to bark
He waits for you ‘till it gets dark
Like the lamp I’m burning low
If this is love, how would I know?

You chop the logs to warm the grate
Draw the bolt across the gate
Make sure the house is safe and sound
Life gets easier when you’re around
Like the lamp I’m burning low
If this is love, how would I know?

My life was hard, the going tough
The men in town  treated me rough
You smiled at me, told me you knew
The streets no place for a gal like you
Like the lamp I was burning low
Out on the streets, nowhere to go

There’s always a fire in your grate
You hurry home, you’re never late
With no demands, no price to pay
You come home early every day
The lamp is lit, it’s shining bright
I think its love, I feel tonight

When you go we don’t say much
We never kiss, we never touch
Your old dog begins to bark
He waits for you ‘till it gets dark
The lamp is lit it’s shining bright
Yes this is love I feel tonight

an August rich with wanting
in September my leaves changed colors
and I fell into madness.

our lips will never meet
nor our fingers intertwine
and so bless my dreams
for indulging what's not mine

The moon was brilliant
Last night
And yet...
I caught you
Staring
At me
Jealous moon

I may not be desired by many —
As they pick their most adored flowers,
Smell it with gladness and praise them,
Picked them up and even displayed them.

I may just be so ordinary in the Garden,
But since I am planted in the Yard of my Beloved,
I know I am uniquely beautiful —
He shelters me every day
While He strolls and sees me in person.

I am rooted in His fertile soil
And He waters me with love that is so enough.
The kind of love that rescued me,
The kind of love that I’ll cherish forever.

So even though I am not wanted by many,
My heart is rest assured
And I can dance with His approval and grandeur.
He made me significant so what more could I ask?

Maybe I am different
But that “difference” made us all the same.
And no eyes can ever satisfy me anymore
Like those burning eyes
By my most treasured Possession.

She was night-time and I loved the darkness
112018

When I was a kid,
You clothe me in white
You packed my things and put them in my bag
To which You also loved to carry.

You allow me to learn things with my fellow kids
Even if it's more of Your hard work, not mine.
And my heart was glad as I see you outside the window
I was confident because You were there.

I can recall that I was not good at tying my shoelaces
I was afraid to fall on my knees
Every time I miss securing them.
That's why I tend to cry and call on Your Name
And you were there to fetch me
And so You do it over and over again.

When we're home, You change my clothes
But You never complain about how untidy my uniform was
You always wear that smile on Your face
And my tears were gone even before I uttered, "Sorry."

One day, I no longer see You outside the window
And I cry to look for You
Even if You already told me that You're coming back to fetch me again
There, I started to understand that all You do is not just for me
But for our family.

I've learned bit by bit how to properly tie my shoelaces,
And I'm too eager to give you the result of my exams every time I go home
I remember how you say,

"Ang galing naman ng anak ko" when I got high grades
And how you encourage me by saying,
"Okay lang yan anak, bawi lang sa susunod,"
When my grades aren't line of nine.

Every day, You watch over my deeds
You always listen when I have something to tell
And when I'm home, You always prepare my clothes as I change.

Personas on her side but his love transcends it all –
Is this what they call, “Love against all odds”?
The heart became deceptive and so selfish…
To the end that it's even willing to break another’s treasure.

She found a door to the other side
A stunning world that was made for them –
A world that is waiting to be embraced
But also a world that is full of unending lies and betrayal.

A peek-a-boo moment for some time,
Glaring at faces and wondering why –
Why he can’t go yet
For she thought he was just wasting his time.

He was waiting for his escape,
But he cannot wait anymore.
So from the barriers of his cell
He was released by no one but himself.

A lake surrounded by thousands of people,
A biosphere they were longing
So they found each other’s hands
Gripping the same feeling
But the truth is they lie to themselves.

The feelings they can’t hold back
But the truth hurts; for they’re already fools!
And so in her remembrance of him
Beauty is the beast when it’s told.

She was drowning in her web of darkness
But nobody saw her struggle —
Nobody and yet her smile’s
Still as sweet as cherry in the bitter night.

Faces forced into ruins
As they look for crying shoulders.
But she kept her brilliance in her vessel
Despite her smoky and fiery red eyes.

She whispers hope
Even if her radiance is put on hold…
She says, “There’s still beauty in ashes
And painful tears could still portray
A wonderful masterpiece.”

She wipes for them as she seeks no return —
And she lends her wounded hand
While her bleeding continues
To diminish her worth.

She was dancing in the rain
Finding comfort in the blanket
Of the roaring and proud oceans.
He was leaving her existence —
With the melody of unspoken apologies
And forgotten regrets.

While some people keep changing partners —
As if it’s so, so easy
Like changing their hair or their clothes…
Hope that it’s not to avoid changing themselves.
Hope that their choice will lead them
To the betterment of themselves.

They’re so busy growing up,
Chasing their dreams —
Praying and believing that these things will last…
But they often forget
That they’re also growing old —
Old days and now it’s getting cold
And no more whispers of love are told.

The distance between us seems endless

Yet you're only 2 feet away by measure

I wish I could reach you like I used to,

You know, in the way that a look,

or a penetrating thought could

Or that soul song we used to sing

when the world seemed perfect

Where You fluttered like a moth

And I danced like a flame

When I resonated through you

And your eyes used to burn deep into me

When your touch electrified

And my kiss hypnotised

As you sleep dreaming of flightful fancies

I hope I meet you there soon

But first, stop your ****** snoring!
Love is real

The Big Bang is soundless.
The galaxies dim.
The universe contracts.
Compared to you.

Evolution has peaked.
Humanity is humane.
Nature can nurture.
Compared to you.

Family takes root.
Generations prove lineage.
I, Me, Mine are ours.
Compared to you.

Life has no end.
Death has no beginning.
Compared to you.
