They are a
family, who
have become one.

Brothers to the end,
protect each other no
matter what may come.

They go where they
must to do what is
right, to keep the wolf
from the door, to
keep there country
safe from the dark night.

WILLIAM WORTHLESS
dont take life for granted treat it with respect
then your life will give  you whatever you expect
dont take life with chances think before you act
take life as it comes keep your life intact

take it day by day as it comes along
treat life with respect and life will keep you strong
everydays a challenge you must learn to cope
treat life with respect and life will give you hope
Look into my eyes
and say with me,
*"I am worthy of love."

Sometimes I walk,
but most days
I am running away

I browse the poems on Hello Poetry
and chance upon yours,
It shakes me to my core,
Like it was written by me, for me.

My thoughts you spread out on display,
My miseries, you named them.
How did you know?
How could you have known?
The blood shed was wiped clean,
The bruises, camouflaged accordingly.

But here, staring at me,
were details of my life,
Penned by a seemingly unknowing entity.

Inclined to turn away,
I quickly close the page,
Goodbye Poet,
Goodbye Poetry!

Someone
Stay humble my friend.
For you won't be here one day.
And although you think you might have left a legacy,
In due time it too will fade with you.
You want to be remembered as someone who
Was kind.
Loving.
Respectful.
Helpful.
Friendly.
And above all humble.
So take the compliments nicely.
Try to always be kind.
And try to be forgiving.
Although I know it can sometimes be hard.
Help others.
Stand up for one another.
Because those are the true legacies that impact lives.
Not just some material thing that will fade faster than you think.

I sit at your bedside to provide you comfort and a true friendship that only one of the dying could ever understand. I hold your hand as you struggle to breathe, and I silently pray you find some relief, and I wipe the beads of sweat from your face and whisper let it be. And once you have finally let go of this world in the most satisfying of peace, and once your soul has taken flight from this very moment to be, I thank God for allowing me to spend it with you. When my time arrives, I can only hope there is such a caring spirit to fulfill such a dire need.
I used to work in hospice care, and each bedside death was a different experience. I am equally honored to have been a part of each of them.

The greatest misconception
of poetry
is thinking
the poet
means something more
than what they said.

Dust settles on us for we remain motionless
The mites start to live off us, as parasites do
******* off all the common sense still remaining
Even our vision diminishes with the accumulating dust
Unable to choose our own course for the future
As we have slowly and prematurely turned to dust
One day the strong wind blows away all the dust
Without a trace, we fade away from this world

Don't ever fall in love with a poet
because they will indeed admire and watch your every move
they will write about how the pen marks on the side of your palm when you write
don't ever because they will trace
every single freckle you have on your face and
write about the color of each and every one of them and
describe how they smile so brightly under the sunlight
they will want you to want to know every little thing about them
even if it's just what hand they write with and want you
to be wondering why they write with that specific hand when in
reality it doesn't even matter

the poet will watch the way you dig
your eyes onto that book and your small quick remarks onto the 26 letters all crumpled together and will know that everyday at 5:28 p.m. you smile

they will look deeply into your eyes
to see if they can at least take a little
peak of your soul and they will write
about you like if you were the only
thing they see good in this world

they will want to know what you think
about when you look at them and
see if you also count each and
every freckle and hope and write
that you do but they will
love you endlessly and they will
show you that they love you and only you

but don't date a poet if you aren't
capable to watch them and
admire their imperfections
when they sleep late at night
beside you.

Every woman should bathe herself
then look in the mirror au naturel and say,
"My body is beautiful" because
we forget sometimes that the only person
we need to please is
**ourselves.

My only dream
is a dream come true
May I be your voice?
May I touch your heart?
May I use words to see through you?
Take my hand and feel free to get lost
smell the flowers
dance in the rain
appreciate the thunder
embrace all of the pain
Let me reach a place that has never been seen
Let my words anoint your emotions
Let my visions be your dreams
Let me understand your struggles
Let me solve your troubles
Let me inspire the sun to shine
and the moon to light
in the night
Let me hold you in the arms
of the poetry I write

May my dreams come true
My only dream is to please you
To move you
To help you
To soothe you
With every word I write
I give my all
I give my might
Won't you dance with me tonight?
Across the page
as if on stage
and hold each other tight?

Let's celebrate our feelings
and make our dreams come true
Let me be the poet I dream to be
All because of you
This is a poem written to those that read my poetry and sincerely enjoy it. I would love to have a "fan" or two, and just knowing that may actually be possible is nothing short of a dream come true. I hope to one day be published, and share my work with the world; if the world will have me :)
