I have been bowlin' semi-colons (for a period of time) as I interject a comma between independent clauses and rhymes.

This is one of my own poems that actually made me chuckle a little.  The joys of punctuation!

The eyeshadows
Of her favorite color palette
Were every bit as neoteric
As they were triturated
--broken to pieces
Inside a mailer
Without bubble wrap
Based on a true story.

BLT's new challenge- to write a poem using the Merriam- Webster word of the day, neoteric.

ryn
Cast in stone
and cement,
pocked with lights
from tiny windows.

Like towering tombstones,

and expressionless.

Yet what was caught
upon the ripples
in the water
spoke loud and aplenty.

Silent voices
that recited nuances
of fragmented poetry
and character.

City by the bay...
Still but alive.
I miss the view of the bay.

“speck of sunshine beneath the clouds,
daylight breaks, bring rooster’s sound.
yawns and sighs as time ticks through,
rustling sheets bid me adieu.
farewell, goodbye, I’ll see you soon,
perhaps sometime this afternoon?”

So strange, to have memories of things
that I don't feel like was ever me
doing the remembering.

So strange,

To have memories
that feel like they belong
to a complete stranger.
Sometimes I wonder if you ever existed?

Hang the noose
From the ceiling to my back
Slit my wrists
With a dull of a knife
Blood spilling from my vains
Finally i feel fine
