i.

dark curves, branches of
a tree caught in a valley wind
of tangling breath.

ii

everything unwinds
summer pools into corners
weeps for
forgotten love.

iii.

this is a dark valley
no ocean, no sky of song.

iv.

night intercedes
lets its other-worldly nectars
dissolve, unclasps me from these
breaking seas.

I hate your guts
I never ever loved you
I couldn't stand you stalking me
on my morning run

You're a very bad neighbor
But, I'll never need a gun
Don't need someone so serious
Can't we just have fun

and I say

Bye Bye Angel
Let my silence run
So much fun to be with you
When we were very young

tonight I'll

Cry Cry Angel
For the loss of one
True friend to the very end
If it could be undone

I'd eat your cancer
make it go away
shut the door on that

Too late for wishful thinking now
She never will come back
The brightest spot of the seventies
Is gone forever, jack

so I say

Bye Bye Angel
I'll see you in the sky
When driving up the PCH
I'll look for rainbow smiles

and I say

Bye Bye Angel
I liked that final kiss
It's not the gift that one would wish
But I think I get the gist

Bye Bye Angel
I hope to see you soon
Better to be dead than here
Just wishing on the moon

Riding on the tide of water deep and blue with white crest arching towards the sun. I listen to the sound of the water against the hull and wait for a faint echo. Then a whistling comes from the depths as whales break the surface to find fresh air. They chirp and whistle to each other as they rise to greet the sun. They fill their lungs and dance in the water before they dive deep again. As they fall into the depths, my heart fills with sadness as all that is left is a faint echo. For to know such beauty and grace even for a moment, can change the heart forever.

I love you
like an eternally expanding universe
seen with the clarity
of a thousand Hubble telescopes
your swirling galaxies
artful nebula
tranquil skies
your solid core

I love you
in molten tongues
calling from the void
two nuclear souls
colliding
every atom undone
fused together
to make one

I love you
until the thread is cut
my free-falling light
so high on your atmosphere
reshaped by your gravity
a meteorite wish
sweet ashes
to your dust
*In Teutonic mythology, the soul is a star attached to the ceiling of the sky with a thread spun at birth by Fate, represented as an old crone.  Fate cuts the thread at the end of a life and the soul falls, becoming a shooting star.

I potted your healing purple verbena
comforting scarlet geranium
never will forget you
pink carnation
the roots were dry
so I added new soil
watered them good
they'll survive

your granddaughter
brought them here
along with "Phil"
the ancient philodendron
he's taken up residence
close to her bed
his elephant ears
spread wide and listening

I thought you would
be pleased to know
she loaded plants
until the car was full
that she did find
a bit of solace
in the garden
you left behind
* Plants and flowers have symbolic meaning in many cultures.  My daughter brought home these plants from her grandmother's house after she passed.

Purple Verbena: *Healing, Happiness, Love*
Scarlet Geranium: *Comfort, Protection*
Pink Carnation: Carnations in general - *a mother's undying love*.  Pink Carnations specifically - *I will never forget you*
Philodendron: called the "loving tree".  "Phil" is an Elephant Ear Philodendron.

Interesting that she picked these from an entire garden, isn't it?

On a mountain
We can feel the clouds
Or we can fall

In the ocean
We can swim in waves
Or we can drown

With the fire
We can warm our bones
Or we can burn

In the sky

You love every beautiful part of me
But there is also
An apology for the way I can sometimes be. I want to be love, well.... I want to be

the sound of a wave lapping,
summer thickens

and suddenly everything is
vaguely surreal, under the
hidden stomach of the stars

ghosts of silver struggle
in the white light.

when the water splashes
little islands croon.

love, rescues me from
the millions of pieces
where i lie scattered.
Thank you to everybody for reading and commenting it means the world to me!!!!

The work I do is not easy,
but it's not bad.
I'm glad to have it,
when it's all I've ever had.

I am a student of the night.
I wear a black patch
on my sleeve.

My teacher's name is Sleep,
and she goes by Dreams, too.

She moonlights by the creek
that flows like a gust of wind
through leaves I never knew,
places I've never been.

We sing songs about you, love.
This song's about you.

He held himself with a somber sadness
His massive shoulders sagged to the floor
As if something at his center had just given up
Perhaps life dealt him a bad deck of cards
or perhaps he had just got some very bad news
That is when I noticed the picture at the table
Sitting at his right in his favorite corner booth
was an old picture of a very lovely woman
Come to find out later this was his beloved wife
They were married for 55 wonderful years
She passed away in 2009 but that did not stop him
He still dines with her every day
and kisses her picture every night
He talks to this picture like she is right there with him
Now that is true love my friends  <3   <3
After seeing this picture was just drawn to write a little something. If you are interested in the picture and the story behind this poem click on this link  http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/10/29/photos-elderly-man-eating-lunch-with-picture-deceased-wife-goes-viral/
