A young pandit
with infinity
in his eyes
smiles

When I ask
if I may pour
the holy prasad
into the roots
of the sacred
Peepal tree

The heart-shaped
leaves dance
as I approach
silk sari
fluttering
colors

They dance
before
and
after
dance
always
all is bliss
to the devas
of this lovely tree
"'Prasad' literally means a gracious gift. It denotes anything, typically an edible food, that is first offered to a deity, saint, Perfect Master or an avatar, and then distributed in His or Her name to their followers or others as a good sign. The prasad is then considered to have the deity's blessing residing within it." - Wikipedia

the world is mind numbingly quiet
the streets drenched in nostalgic sepia,
the kind that ushers you into a movie moment reeling in
under the notes of a power ballad
and all of a sudden you just feel
alive but detached from your life.
your body is immobile in a moving vehicle,
your brain takes pictures
of the people that is around you,
and you realize that their life
is not yours.
they are under impressions of sunrises
and the shading of trees in the summer's sleep,
while you exist
because of the way the street appears
at night beneath the empty moon.

So, okay, are you listening?
Being a monkey means
many things...
Yes!
It also means loving,
not just bananas,
but the people who love
bananas, and monkeys too!

Listen to me in your heart,
pay attention now, person,
and this is gonna be
the best smoothie ever!

Bananas come first, of course,
then yogurt, vanilla, of course,
a BIG spoon of peanut butter..
Yes, really!
Trust me!
Cinnamon to jazz it up,
water to smoothen it...
we are calling this a smoothie
RIGHT?
And for extra-special, maple syrup,
to give it a heavenly touch!

Now cover your ears,
which are almost as sensitive
as mine, and ... Oh!

How do you push the button
with your fingers over your ears!
For the child in every heart, and every child.

Windblown mane flying out behind,
Ribbons of tangled threads dancing
In the early autumn zephyr.
Ebony hued hooves alternate,
Strong as steel, joined in the pounding
Music of free flight. The wild horse.

Soft, flowing mane brushed to perfection.
Ribbons entwining the smooth silk braids
Shining in the early autumn light.
Silver shod hooves alternate in rhyme,
Shimmering like gold, joined in the proud
Prancing of a lady. The show horse.

Two spirits combine.
The wild and the performer,
Both content in their
Destined lives.

Well.
Autumn comes again.
The rotating of seasons
Always in constant motion.
Though it may seem mysterious,
It really is not.
All it is, is
The rotating of our planet,
Our world, around our Sun,
Our star, our source of light
And hope and energy and life.

//

With every new season comes a new feeling
Winter,
Coldness, loneliness (maybe), brisk and clean.
Spring,
Freshness, coming of a new season and new life
Summer,
The happiness, blissfulness, free-ness, relaxation.
Autumn,
A time to reflect, colors, bonding.

//

Once-green leaves painted
Burning sunset hues.
Russet, gold, amber leaves
Twirl towards the ground
In its own complicated choreography.
Twigs and leaves crunching underfoot
As you walk down the windy scenic path.
An autumn Beauty.

Lullaby of the city, bright and strong,
Serenade the masses of the sleepless,
The tossing and turning, troubled tense throng
Of our kin bubbling over with stress.
Ink covered fingers flowing like water --
Pouring o'er paper in sharp curvatures.
Lips like verbs, eyes like green glass he'll shatter;
Like an open book with a hardcover.
Ballad of beautifully broken notes
Ringing through the chilling autumn air
Gathering the hearts and the tears of most
To bring the sorrowful much needed cheer.
Like the steam from her black cup of coffee
Not quite here; she's warm, hearty and happy.

I hope you find what you were looking for:
In grand conversations held in my absence
& all of her extravance.
I hope you find what you were looking for:
Who can offer you her support & honesty;
I know you didn't have that from me.
I hope you find what you were looking for.
Romance and adventure;
The stuff we failed at together.
I hope you find what you were looking for:
Personal growth & confidence
With belly deep laughter and happiness.
I hope you find what you were looking for.

Before I met you
I had favorite songs
I use to sing along to
in the shower
When I met you
I realized you liked the same songs
I would listen to them and smile
thinking of you
When you left
I still had your songs
I would sit in the shower
and cry while I listened to them
Now that I've moved on
I listen to the same songs
and wonder why I ever
stopped singing along to them
while I showered
I have found joy again.

something about the late nights
driving alone with the windows down
listening to a soft melody
reminiscing all the old times
the good times
when life wasn't so complicated
it is pure beauty
feeling the most vulnerable
the most alone
it is such a joyous sensation
knowing that i can feel this way
whenever i need to get out
it's just as simple as starting a car
pressing play
and rolling the windows down
