i would do anything
to have your lips stutter my name
let your words grasp my hand
watch your eyes search for mine.

to wait for you is impossible yet divine
when we exist in places
so far from where we are destined.

we are parallel lines

i would do anything
for us to be a painting instead
i'd color you in hues of unrequited love
and put us on a frame
i'll give it to you and say

'keep it. keep us. keep me'

'why'

'because we are so much more than just parallel lines'
finally found the inspiration to write again. i believe sorrow brings out the poet in everyone.

you are chaotic, and beautifully broken
standing stoic and silent
but the earth thrums with your screams

there is no romance to be found in pain
fret not about idealism and misconception;
i know how you suffer

but there's so much love in you,
you could make the soulless feel again
too much passion for you to know what to do with

never shown enough compassion to understand
that your mind, ill as it may be, is gorgeous
you are not awful, but awe-inspiring

hard work wears you down
but your hands are still so soft;
they were meant to be held, and kissed

you were born to be adored
and feared and wanted, to confuse with your complexity
so that only the best of people will stand with you

side by side with you, with open eyes
and open arms and open hearts
there is war in your chest and these friends will bring you peace

the world has, since birth, shown you destruction
volleyed hatred and scorn in your direction
but here is its reconciliation:

these people that love you are soldiers
ready to help you win the wars that explode in the spaces between your ribs
they will help you breathe, and smile, and sleep

I have walked these streets, marked these trails
rode through the jungle a hundred times.
Never bothered to stop and pry into
the privacy of the lamppost,
stole the dews on the petals,
or eyed upon a tree to climb.

I walked the same path again,
fingers crossed, this time not alone,
for she was walking with me.
It was a strange feeling
like our footsteps played piano,
and the asphalt wrote the song...

I have seen countless suns, falling down.
Never felt like capturing one of them.
With her, it's whole another tale,
watching the sun kissing the earth
at the end of the avenue,
right from then, I was never the same.

I felt like my senses have woken up,
rejuvenated, after years of deep sleep
the petals winked at me,
the streetlamps burnt brighter.
And the trees seemed concerned,
telling me only to make promises, I can keep.

I, all these years thought the road was too long.
Now, I know it was the drag that kept off pace
With her, the route is all new,
No more the pinches of anxiety,
nor any shoves of meaninglessness,
I wish to tell her "In you, I have found my place."

Forget the long past years that linger
the tarnished rings upon your finger
I watch you quietly read your book
Or sipping tea in the kitchen nook
Within your loving style and grace
Embracing the challenges that we face

Ever steady against the flowing years
Ever comforting though all my fears
My safe harbor and my guiding light
You shine the old silver of our life so bright
With your brightened eyes and loving care
You bless me with your love to share

And when we return to the flesh again
You shower your love like summer rain.
With schoolgirl smile and loosened hair.
You open your heart for me to share.
All I ask of you this day sublime
Is for you be my valentine.
To my lovely wife
All my love forever
Jude
