Empty,
Sadness, Blackness,
Aching, Choking, Breaking,
Burning my resolve to cinders,
Worthless

they squeeze
they press and pressure and push
until i decide to
pop
and do their bidding
and be a 'ganger
one of them
and then the others,
the true and tested,
the tried and done,
they cry and wonder
what the hell i have done
submitting to the evil
turning to stone
not knowing that the action
it's influence, invincible
unchangeable
not my fault

Saying goodbye
To someone you love
Is like reading the final page
Of an amazing book.

As the last chapter ends
You begin to notice
Just how beautiful
And perfect
The plot always was.

You appreciate the joy
And even the pain
As you read and thumb
Through every page.

Finally understanding
The moral of the story,
You realize you've reached
The end of this journey.

Although the last sentence
Is the most difficult to read
Another great book awaits
Once you turn the final page.

Eventually you may stumble
Upon yet another great find.
Or maybe you'll return
To the book you left behind.

You may just discover
Once all is said and done
That this particular book
Was your favorite story
All along.

Eyes

I use my eyes to see
As anyone else would
I see the colors all around me and the faces of those I love
I love my eyes for they let me see things some can't
Like the expression on your face when you make a mistake
Or the rare smile that you hide
But now my eyes are tired
Dark circles surround them
And my vision is slowly getting duller
The world seems to be turning into a monochrome mess
I couldn't even tell when the red under your eyes
Had turned to the same black as mine

Like the fire I wish to breathe
one which shall corrupt my lungs
and stale my eyes
burn away my lashes

Is the same way that I crave you
wanting despite all I know
a blaze that will take away my life in a river of flames
a blaze that will scorch everything of my physical body
yet leave my soul intact,untouched

I want that fire
even though it will kiss my finger tips until they burn.

"i love you"
you can say it time and time again
-
you've never been in love the way you are now
pure and innocent
like flowers that have just bloomed
(so beautifully, you can't see)
fragrant bouquets
you have created like a skilled florist
in a dying, abandoned town

you've never held someone's hand the way you do now
comforting and desperate
like a baby's grip
(you don't ever have to let go)
on a touched mother
who never existed and never breathed
amongst our pathetic little crowns

you've never been understood the way you are now
completely and wholeheartedly
like a wonderfully written song
(your voice is my favourite tune)
absolute harmony
we have perfected and sung sanguinely
in a world full of noise
-
but know that it won't matter
for all of you is love to me

// please remember that strength and brokenness don't mend well together, but darling, i'm willing to scream at the top of my lungs while you whisper lullabies to me because you are my constant in a world full of change. and i know we may be puzzle pieces still searching, but with some scissors and glue, we may become a perfect fit, ready to start anew. //

Dark towering forms
With strength of millennia
Weak against our love

It’s already midnight.* Go to sleep, dear.
You have a brand new day ahead of you.
He’s already in his bed,
   dreaming of someone else.
Why are you still wide awake,
quietly proclaiming your love for him?
The only person who can hear your confession
   is you, the lovestruck insomniac.
is it wrong for me to say that i don't actually have anyone in mind when i write poems like this?
