Small beads on the bottom
Of a wooden jewelry box
The one with lacquered birds
The broken necklace
Your father’s gift
The beads live in the corners
Because we treasure people

but wanted by none
if i disappear tomorrow the only thing you'd probably miss is a clean house

kodi
my heart belongs to tofu
soy milk runs through my veins
silken or firm; dressed up or naked
straight from the fridge and straight to my heart
dine with a passion, this curd is an art

juicy and delicious, chewy gooey soft
bless me with your bean, bless me with your froth
on the top of my latte, you glisten in the sun
oh soy, my boy, my joy; you are my life blood

“Normality” people cry
And I can’t help but ask
Why?
A slave to the wage
Already trapped in a cage
What is it about life before
That you are all grieving so much for?
The freedom of which you speak
Having to book a holiday for a ******* week

Yes I miss a warm embrace
I want him here kissing my face
Technology overload
So ***** I’ll explode
Yet somehow I know
That back to ‘normal’
Is not where I want to go

When this is over
You’ll book that holiday
And take the next flight
To some far away place
To have the same sun
On your face
Then back to your cage
A slave to the wage

This simulation was not a success
Mother Nature cries
You’re all a ******* mess
She’s given you a chance
A time to pause
To reflect
To ponder
To dream
Yet you dare not ask
What does all this mean?

Do you sit there and wait
For world leaders
To decide your fate?
Will you choose to do good?
To have compassion for those
Where isolation is all they know?
Locked away behind bars
With their trauma and their scars
Out of site
Out of mind
They’ve been left behind

When this is over
I’ll ask myself the question
What do I yearn for?
And the answer will be
As it’s always has been
Freedom
From normality

Teleprompter this
Teleprompter that
Agenda, mindbender
Forging the facts
Rolling towards the right
Leaning to the left
Dim the lights inside your mind
...Talking Heads

Toss the line
Cast the net
Spin, real them in
Quite the catch
Hook, line, and sinker
Believing all that's said
Filled with fear, glad you're here
...Talking Heads

How long can this go on
Hedging their bets
Hold tight, no end in sight
At least not yet
Don't let it bother you
Worry your weary head
To tell the truth, it's what they do
...Talking Heads
you came to me in a dream last night
I touched the tips of your fingers with the tips of mine
unpacking boxes that you left behind
dusty, heavy, always nesting in my mind
We are all silhouettes
Wrapped in the tapestry
Of a blooming night
Outlines etched messily
Into a cotton wool sky
Beautifully imperfect
A stray wisp illuminates
Sings sweet like our
Honey bee laughs
We smile, always
Endlessly sunshine yellow
For here we are youth
Wild like dandelions
Rebelling against being
A common flower
We paint the word ****
In shining glitter
Send it to outer space in
A paper airplane
Then dance on crazily
Like the night is infinite
Dreaming for a forever
Something a bit different
