If eyes roll
In the forest
Would a tree
Keel over
From ennui?
Just wondering.

The first two lines are an introduction and then there are individual poems down each note, together they form one bigger picture. I know the notes are wonky but I think it gives the poem an unconfined feeling, flowing like music.
Hope you enjoyed :)
Much easier than the other shape poetry I’ve posted before and a lot less stressful.
Once again feel free to comment or dm me links to shape poetry that you’ve tried out.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Don't fish between two rivers
Unless you're a good swimmer
And the two streams don't meet at the center.

If the old dog can't learn new tricks
You don't have to buy it a bag of treats
But don't argue with it on politics.

Don't play with fire
But if you really want the ointment
Then get burned to your heart's desire.

Patience is not always a virtue
The mousetrap always looks pretty harmless
Until it breaks the rodent in two.

If you came and saw but didn't conquer
Perhaps there really was no war to wage
And you have just gone bonkers.

daily provisioning

wallet  watch  testicles  spectacles
cash (single bills) cell phone
bottle of water   hairbrush with vanity attached,
personal technology baggie
(earbuds, variety of charging cords etc.)
loose change in order to fall from pockets & annoy yourself
sunglasses (idiot! summers half over) and something else...

pocket tissues!

skin and bone, muscle, all flavors and multilayers,
a language of music only you hear,
the pumping station internal, the gaga motion
product of the palette of body following souled emotions,
the antacid pills after that burrito;
and that strangely named thang called

libido?

your teeth  your smile, your shyest guile,
to catch that lady’s hopefully.
reciprocated pearly whites delight,
pen and pad to record being a sad and mad good lad,
a Swiss Army knife if the tube or bus
should (will) breakdown,
your tiny little bottles of
inspiration  perspiration and perspective,
that you forgot to

label

the list to do and the list
to add to the to do list
and good heavens,
a serious writing utensil
to fool yourself when
thinking serious thoughts like

these

the last but should be first,
the house keys!!
keys just an enabler
to do it all again

I wrote in circles like a vinyl ******, but still running, and bounded over what could have made the story wholly forgiving.

I am the only one
to ever hear
exactly what I said:

I cannot begin
to tell you how
this might end.

you’ll probably be
more sorry when
you’re dying
stopping wrongs
from writing
please stop trying
stop chasing dawn
still
about waking up
on lawns
quit

you’ll probably be
more sorry when
the light goes
out tonight those
doors
aren’t windows
time heals
but when though
we’ve been closed
an illuminated end grows
quick
