Oh, magic mirror on the wall, who is the one I see before?

A mirror is set to reflect my present self. If so, why do I see portions of my past and evidence of my future. Is there a contradiction in this glass surface.

The bags underneath my eyes shows my sleep deprived past. The hair on my face shows my bearded future. Yet the sound of my heart beat shows my living present.

You say you know better. You have been on this Earth longer than me.

You saw the culmination of faults write the books I've read in school.

You saw the Moon go many shades and the Sun still light your life.

You act like a giant and say I stand upon your shoulders.

Yet, the water is still above my head.

The sacrifices you made weren't enough to afford me a life vest.

So, I'm drowning...maybe....just maybe I'll drown your demons along with mine.

The stones of my ancestors will not be turned over by my descendants.

For Time has been the concept of an illusion, the perception of what is and isn't.

For Love has been in everything, from pleasure to pain it is still present.

For Death has been the collector, writing away the essences that are here and therefor.

So while eons pass, be sure to remember me and notice the collateral beauty.

Goddess Rue
Heaven rained on me,
I breathed in the petrichor,
Bathed in the downpour.
I have sinned,
So destroy me,
With your rain.

A head empty with lies and water shallow enough to drown.
A clock never on time and a road always lost.

People fail to see that darkness can be reflected too. Because in those dark times we begin to realize who we truly are inside.
The shallow waters in a dark pond still give off a reflection. Just the ones we tend to avoid at night.
