The Pioneer
Tyrel Headley Dec 2016
I look up into the deep blackness
A kind of dark that swallows your soul
Makes you question your existence

The thrusters shake the ground and scorch the earth
Inertia holds me back as the shuttle propels me forward
The feeling of weightlessness and peace

Interrupted
Engine failure
Pressure drop
Eject

Alone surrounded in the darkness
I look down at my blue home
I see the answers to my questions
A cry of regret goes unheard

The Bomb
Tyrel Headley Dec 2016
Here it comes peace inbound.
Falling down without a sound.
There is no discrimination.
It's only goal annihilation.
Mankind's destructive wonder.
Made to tear the world asunder.
Great big bomb in the sky.
Last thing we see before we die.

The Blazing Giant
Tyrel Headley Dec 2016
Within the fog and the fire
The heavy smoke blackens lungs
A locomotive derailed and unhinged
Once a steaming freight
But now a mess of twisted metal and flaming diesel
The dead lay silent and disfigured
Hypnotized by the blazing giant

The Sea
Tyrel Headley Dec 2016
She is like the sea
I sit on the shore
Looking out at her beauty
Admiring every wave

Her love is deep
But it is also cold
So I keep to the sand
Hoping she will bring in her tide
And give me a kiss

But it is too late
Her current has already left
All I can do is watch
As she takes her oceanic swells
To another beach
