When God created the world
He was so kind to give us eyes
So we could see the wonder
And beauty he placed around us
So we could admire the vast ocean
And the painted sunset sky
And the wildflowers that bloom
Alongside the highway

When God created the world
He was so kind to give us ears
So we could hear the songs
And the rhythm of the earth
So we could listen to the birdsong
And the rustle of the wind
And the cadence of the raindrops
Falling on the rooftops

When God created the world
He was so kind to give us voices
So we could laugh together
And cry on each other's shoulders
So we could share advice
And tell one another stories
And whisper secrets
In the dead of the night

Thy heart is big
Lend me your hand
Because I love you, I shall let you know
That our faults lie not in our stars
But that we are mere mortals

Your once commended beauty--
Still Lingers

All my vows of love--
Still Strong

You are as dear to me
As the life blood in my veins

Kneel not, gentle Portia

I love you well
Not without cause
Let me, upon my knee, prevail in this
A found poem inspired by the tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare.

Let there be music to fill my ears
with the voices & melodies I cannot make
Let there be music to fill my soul
with the crescendos & chords I cannot replicate

Let there be stars to fill my eyes
with the wonder & beauty I cannot be
Let there be stars to fill the night
with the majesty & radiance from which I cannot flee

Let there be music to fill my ears
Let there be stars to fill my eyes
So I may be understood as I shed tears
So I am not alone when I cry
Sometimes the things God has placed in this world are so beautiful that I want to cry.

Take a few minutes
Each and every day
Stand in front of the mirror
Look at your reflection
And ask yourself a few questions

"How are you feeling today?"
Ask politely, pause for a heartbeat or two
"What's wrong?" With sincerity, mind you
Because no one is as strong as they think
"I haven't seen so-and-so for a while!
It's so good to finally meet up with them again."
Reminisce on good times long gone
Imagine the future he'll give you

"Do you really want to have to go through with this?"
Ask yourself, staring into your own eyes
Put down the razor and the skin cream
Put away the curling iron and the makeup
Give up the fad diet and the guarantees
Stop worrying about what your parents will say

Smile at yourself in the mirror
Wink and lean in close
So close your breath fogs up the mirror
Have a good long laugh
Send a few thoughts up his way

'Cause he's looking down from paradise
And believe me when I say
That God loves all his children as they are
After all, he did make you that way
God knew everything about before you were even formed in your mother's womb. He created you in his image. What could be more beautiful and perfect than that? Who can tell you you aren't wonderfully and fearfully made?

As far as I've heard
There are two types of country songs
Those that say
"People never Change!"
And those that say,
"Oh, yes they can."

As far as I've seen
There are two types of Christians
Those that think
That they are high and righteous
And those that know
They should be so very humbled

As far as I think, not know,
There are only two sides of a coin
One is called the head
And the other is
known as the tail

As far as I know
there is no black and white
There is no fat line that divides them
And there is no line at all, just millions of shades of gray
So have a little faith in me
If someone wants to change, it's entirely up to them. Have a little faith in humanity today.

When I smile on my throne,
you will wonder
why the others cringe away in fear
pawns

When I laugh behind my hands,
you will wonder
why he shook so with rage
bishop

When I sleep at night,
you will wonder
why they stand guard by my bedside
knights

When I walk in the great hall,
you will wonder
why the others flee from my path
rooks

When I cry in the garden,
you will wonder
why he does not dry my tears
king

When I am silent at your graveside
you will wonder no more

As I walk
the words of those that never existed
echo inside of my mind

I have learned
that you don't have to share each other's blood
to be the closest brothers

I can hear
thousands of voices swelling up inside
each begging for just one chance

I can see
every one of those smiling faces
that I've never laid eyes upon

Now I know
I'm friends with those that never existed
those that I have never met

I have fought
hundreds of battles with nary a scratch
but been mortally wounded

For I am
A warrior, a queen, a servant, a child,
a mere bystander

Because I
Have a library inside of my head
of all that I read
Books are my life. Yes, Graphic Novels count. So do Audio-books. Basically any form of fiction counts here    :)
