I press your spine against the desk and
break
you
apart.
I hear you crack.
Words spill
into empty air.
They pool at my feet.
Meaningless.
I rifle through your pages.

They quiver like autumn leaves.

I practically
beg
for them to crumble into dust
between my
fingertips
as I leave you.
Bare.
Empty.
Naked.
Between the covers.
as beauty kisses
      the dark of night
dreams of whispers
      take heavenly flight,
floating high, above sleepy beds
       leaving whispering dreams
           to fall
               upon
                   sleepy heads….
so dream
              a dream,
                     of your love so true
                      while stars twinkle
                         silver and blue….
as mr. moon
            watches from above
       the most beautiful dreams
of sweetest love…

For the last time and forever
They pulled away from each other.
Their intertwined fingers unravelling
Like threads coming apart.

Someday your stomach won't drop
your eyes won't cry
and your heart won't pound
at the sound of his name.
