I guess I’ll never understand
      Why you cry yourself to sleep

Why you look in the mirror
      To see one missing piece

What must I do to help you
      Sleep sound
            When I’m not around...

You are complex, hard to read

But,

You are

perfect

to me.

and if you are to love,
love as the moon loves;
it does not seal the night-
it only unveils the beauty
of the dark.

You told me that you had my back,
And I thought that was true,
Now my shadow's still behind me,
but where on earth are you?

i don't pay attention to the
world ending.
it has ended for me
many times
and began again in the morning.

I tried to tell you
Now it's too late
I sit waiting
At heaven's gate

He abused me, Mom
You never seemed to care
Now I lay in a black coffin
Full of despair

How many times
Did you hear me cry?
Did you ever think
It'd get so bad I'd die?

I am an angel now
With long white wings
Flying higher each day
No longer feeling his stings

I'll watch over you, Mom
Do what you didn't do for me
You pretended not to hear
Pretended not to see

Now you wait at heaven's gate
Just as I once did
You have now come to realize
The pain that I once hid

there have been so many times
i have seen a man wanting to weep
but
instead
beat his heart until it was unconscious.

Hey you remember when you told me it was gonna be ok?
I believe you now.

I need a hug. Please.

She was, in fact, a child of the moon.
Wandering around aimlessly, in the dark.
Bringing light, to everyone around her.

Don’t walk behind me;
I may not lead.
Don’t walk in front of me;
I may not follow.
Just walk beside me
And be my friend.

The woods are lovely,
dark
       and deep.
but i have promises to keep.
and
miles... to go..
before... I can possibly.. s  l   e   e   p...
NO!
I cant sleep.
stay...
awake......

Her smile was a shooting star
so beautiful and rare
that by the time that you had blinked
there was no sign it had been there.

She had blue skin
and so did he.

She wore a mask
and so did he.

She spent her life searching
and so did he.

but when they met

they saw nothing

but the mask they hid behind

and so she passed him by.

Meet me
where the end begins,
in echos,
where your world is me,
and my world is you

You think I'm happy because I'm smiling,
But it's the easiest thing to do,
if you had looked a little closer,
you'd find my eye's aren't smiling too.

"We would be together
and have our books
and at night
be warm in bed together
with the windows open
and the stars bright."

You drew memories in my mind
I could never erase.
You painted colors in my heart
I could never replace

she had magic in her eyes
even the stars envied.

Your smile is a broke lie,
watching you break,
seeing your dreams die.

The mirror tells you how to scream,
a muffled wail,
masks how things seem.

Why can't you see the wings,
bolted to your back,
you only see the demons
and the heart that's turning black.

My love,
Oh my heart, soul, and desire.
I will hold your melted wings
protect you from the fire.

If Icarus flew,
with an umbrella over his head,
would his wings have melted?
Would he struggle, dead?

I will break my wings,
walk with you,
be with you,
talk with you.

I will shatter the mirror.
for it tells you wrong.
you are a miracle,
worthy,
strong.

I plead with you now,
open your eyes,
see that your beauty,
never dies.

My arms will be open
fall into me,
see the wonderful things
that I see.

If for one minute,
I could give you my eyes,
you'd look in the mirror,
not suffer, but smile.

But,
Your smile is a broke lie,
watching you break,
and painfully,
seeing your dreams die.

there’s chaos
in everybody’s heart.
some just grow
flowers on it.
while others
tear it apart.

Like the anger
Of fire
Shapes the metal
Like the sorrow
Of a writer
Creates poetry
Everything
That is
Beautiful
Doesn’t always
Start
Beautifully.

I will not have you without the
darkness that hides within you.
I will not let you have me without
the madness that makes me. If our
demons cannot dance, neither can we.

I walk on
microscopic pieces
of shattered dreams
I breath in doubt and feel it
consume me
Pain burns a hole
straight through my chest
And I can’t help but think
it would be for the best
And all the while I’m listening
I hear the screams
“You’re not good enough”
They define me.

What a plot twist you where.

What makes you happy?

I should apologize
The waves in your eyes
Caught me by surprise
I didn’t think you where like other guys
But I am your prize
I guess now’s the time to say goodbyes
The life left behind was the ultimate price.

Sorry

Some days
i'm afraid to write,
because sometimes
the honesty kills me.

I met a boy once
who cried and told me
he was not enough
and it baffled me
that he could not see
the sunlight pouring through his eyes

The way they glistened and shined
the diamond tear falling down his face
he falls on his knees
because to him
he was nothing but empty space.

He was wrong
and I wish he could see,
he is the sunlight in life
the stars in the sky
the reason I haven't died.

Don't take the sunlight.

When’s tomorrow gonna get here?

It’s you
Because no one else
Makes sense

How many poems must one write
until his heart has finally taken flight.
will his heart ever stop the feeling of dread.
you see,
it starts to get to your head,
eventually.

But in the meantime,
I'll keep writing,
Always fighting,
'Till the day I can sleep without words floating through my mind.

i let the sun
give me freckles
so i could share
a piece of sunshine
with someone in the dark.

even if you are a small forest surviving off of
moon alone.
your light is extraordinary.

Love what you have
Many of us can only wish

You are not only a “he”
Or a “her”
Make your name
Sound like something
Terrifyingly beautiful
And out of this world.

our relationship was
filled with toxic chemicals
that
     s l o w l y   but
                 s u r e l y
crept into
my body
               my head
                              my heart
the way your love
did.

N O T

I would like to say
That you
Make me
Weak in the knees

But,

To be quite upfront
And completely
Truthful,
You make me forget
I even have knees at all

Will the day come
when words stop
touching my heart.
when the words people say
won't tear me apart.
is it easier being an adult?
I hope age is not just a number,
but a savior,
awakened from a deadly slumber
doomed to walk again.
here to save, and heal pain.

but it doesn't seem that way...
