After the picnic
Kay Sep 2018
The sun has set
The birds have stopped singing
The wind whispers for me to go home now
This field is no longer for two
The ground has hardened beneath me
and you’re no longer enjoying the view
Our path is covered in weeds
Where the flowers use to be
No more purple and pink to dress our feet
Only black and blue remain
For they have left a stain
I follow our foot prints back to the road
For now it’s time to take the long way home
Only this time I’ll be doing it alone…

Casualty
Kay Sep 2018
Tired of hiding self.
It's straining my mental health.
I feel like my mind is on a shelf ,
And hasn't been checked out since.
I'm ******* up my sense of reality.
And only a couple of cents will pay the price of this casualty.
Casually I **** up.
Sadly I give up.
Madly in love was I.
But unfortunately love had blind eyes.
It took me on a roller coaster high
And dropped me off the edge of insanity.
Love had the favorite color of lavender.
Looked like long car rides with me in the passenger.
But then it became a massacre.
******* some nights I thought I looked the devil in his eyes.
He just laughed and watched me cry,
But why should I be surprised...

I had to find my healing
So I went back and found you.
Waited for you to call my name
and I'd as If my demons could come too.
Cause they were always the third party
The uninvited crew.
You'd undress me with your smile
and I figured I could stay a while.
In this mess called loving.
Cause it hurt to be out there on my own.
I didn't have a place to call home.
More like the home I had couldn't make room for my demons and me too.
So I found myself coming to you.
Broken and bleeding.
Cut tongue but still pleading.
That maybe you could be my healing.
