our lips will never meet
nor our fingers intertwine
and so bless my dreams
for indulging what's not mine

caught in this grief
i've never felt before
unsure of how to react,
i do what i can to stay afloat.
unprecedented stress and anxiety,
overwhelming situations,
too much to handle on my own.

I want to hold the sky in my hands

forever in your eyes

you stopped counting at nineteen
now you're twenty

the earth is dying
so am I

she always posted my bail and
never asked what I d done
and she paid the back rent
twice
always had dinner for me

she loaned me money
and I never paid her back

and when I was gone

for 2 or 3 days
she didn't ask where I'd been

she broke my nose
with a non-stick frying pan

she broke my heart with a letter

she s the best I ever had
