Roses

there are roses growing
from my hands
My doubt the seeds
Begging them to grow

There are roses climbing
up my arms
digging in my skin
but i am numb
to their thorns and beauty

There are roses growing
in my lungs
bloodied petals
filling my throat
and falling from my lips

Tears are sliding
down my cheeks
I've had enough
I am to weak

Why must you try,
To make everything right,
To erase all my fears,
So that I might not fight?

Why must you take,
My heart and my soul,
My burning desire,
From embers to coal?

That is my reason,
My morning my night,
My reason for living,
My dawn changed to light.

queen of hearts
your love runs dry
it always rains
you’re the reason
for my worst days
the blues I choose
the shades of gray
you paint the sky
on my darkest days
I hate you most
but I hate the way
you’re still the sun
on my perfect days

What are you for?

Do life at a snail’s pace

Notice the drone of slow breathing

Wither

I think
that my dreams
are dying.

Even worse,
I think that they

are taking me down

with them.
