Take me back to the innocent days when I was a kid Way back before I learnt societal ways when all I knew was love way before I saw people act with so much hate when I had almost no worries way back when all I cared about was food and play when I would cry and forget the hurt after that Please take me back to the innocent days
Well-equipped for the journey ahead The only opposing factor is fear How do you embark on a trip that you can't even see its end? Different voices playing in his head Butterflies fluttering in his belly
Grab the rung of the ladder with courage It all begins with a single step (with faith) Fear is a prerequisite to acting bravely Stare the challenge in the eyes Take a deep breath... then act Victory is waiting on the other side
I wrote this for a photo challenge. The photo has a guy dressed in a special costume trying to climb a ladder that has no visible end.
Flashback to the days when we were kids After school and house chores, We used to come together on the street With our canvases, to paint our dreams And the kind of future we want to live
Regularly, we'll touch up our paintings Inspire one another to make positive changes Our future looked bright in our faces We watched ourselves live through different life phases
One of my besties started doing wrong Getting high and using drugs His amazing painting fading before our eyes Before we knew it, he was completely drawn
Looking at him today makes me cry His situation is very dire I hope he recovers from this snare And be the man of his childhood painting
Bad behavior(s) doesn't imply a bad person Don't judge the fruit without finding the root cause Because every child is born innately good Life experiences shape and mold people Walk a mile in another person's shoes Listen to what they've been through An unhealthy home can leave a dent on a person for life if not remolded Most bad acts are aftertaste of bad upbringing Instead of condemning, let's show empathy People deserve a second chance multiple times If it took years to be crooked, then, with love and patience, any human can be remolded.
A healthy plant grown out of concrete crack Indeed a display of perseverance Growing regardless of the (not so favorable) circumstances Unyielding in the face of oppositions It will not give up, it will not give in It's standing tall and looking unperturbed That is nature's way of saying You could rise above limitations Only if you believe And ready to stand for what you believe.
Three days in a row, she's been in my radar Before I reach out, she vanishes into a corner What she's showing me is like a trailer She's like a movie you would call a thriller Ain't seen a skin sleeker She's got no diamond jewelry on but she glitters I'm on a quest to find her, call me the seeker!
I want this, this, this I need that, that, that Thank you God but You know... I need this, this, this I want that, that, that
We often have more than we realize We mostly need less than we try to get Gratitude is an eye opener Gratitude is a door opener Ask less and give more thanks!
For real (truthful) with us in all situations Respectful of our personality Inspire us to live our very best Expressively show care for us and Not turn their back when we need them the most Deliberately watch out for us and Supportive in every reasonable way.
I'm not here to speak simile or metaphor Nor form holiest from the synagogue Nor have I lived this life before But one thing I know for sure We all need to live in love so pure That's the world ONLY cure!
Firstly, love yourself Secondly, love your neighbour as yourself If you can't do the first, you can't do the second If you do the first, don't stop there, obey the second! **If you can't do the first, learn to do so and proceed to number two.
The plan is not to change the world as an individual But if I can change the world of an individual Then that individual can reach out to another individual I can gladly watch positive impact spread One life touched can touch a family One family touched can touch a community One community touched can touch a city Who knows maybe we can then collectively impact the world positively.
Hey dude, you've got to man up You cannot let them see your pain They mustn't see that you're hurt Don't let them perceive you as weak You've got to mask how you feel and show them that you're strong
Hey society, this is where you're wrong A man is also an emotional being Those kind of words weaken him even more You shouldn't make him feel incomplete What he needs is a warm embrace Tell him, it's okay to feel how he feels How he feels doesn't make him less of a man
The land of dreams is inhabited by scarecrows. We often believe things as they seem Without reaching to see what it really is. This has left the land uncultivated for years The only barrier to the land being our fears We sow our seeds in the land of excuses Watering them each and every day It's time to till the land of our dreams Failure to try is equivalent to 0% chance of success With hardwork, commitment and patience The land of our dreams will be our playing field.
I've found a friend in my notepad It listens to every word that's on my mind And it never interjects me when I speak I tell it stuff that I couldn't tell no one And it hasn't for once revealed my secrets (at least, not that I know of) It knows so much but it never judges me It allows me empty my heart and as thus keeps me calm Thanks my friend for being there all the time.
A number of things are uneasy to forget Like how it was a luxury to have 3 square meals, How mountainous paying tuition was But the hope for a greater tomorrow, those situations couldn't steal I remember some of my clothes had holes Nonetheless my faith remained whole At least, I had a roof over my head and a family that cared I remember we didn't have surplus Nevertheless I was thought to give Some things, you just never forget But when you look back at them, All you can do is give thanks!
It's all about being my very best It has nothing to do with the rest Failure to me isn't losing It depends on how it is perceived I allow the pains and the hurt fall through But I keep the lessons learned in the sieve
Giving up is not an acceptable option But perseverance coupled with passion With eyes looking on the bright side of things.
Every heart has gems in them With each person, They are found at varying depths and quantities We all have different level of awareness of their presence When a heart is showered with love, The gems in it are multiplied, Brought closer to the surface And easily revealed by the person.
How could I claim that I've laid down my life to You When I'm still strongly holding on to it My voice is the loudest in church on Sundays But You only hear it once every 7 days and even sometimes, I skip ****** words, frequently I speak Is this really what Christianity means? Social media has become my new bible And I constantly meditate on what people think of me Maybe that's why I try to please everyone except The One who made me Isn't that called misplaced priorities? If this is your narrative as well, This is to let you know that it's not too late Merciful He is, wide open are His gates Make a decision today, backed with actions Remember Saul became the powerful Paul He is always ready whenever you are!
My buddy was going through stuff I said to buddy... Tell me your darkest fears I promise you that I will not reveal your secret To nobody but God And he opened up...
I kept my promise To tell nobody but God Few weeks later... Buddy shared with me that fears are gone He feels reborn I had joy all over me too!
Open unto me the door to your heart Lead me up the path Tell me cool stories as you show me around Take me to the love garden Can I take pictures with the flowers, I promise I won't pluck them, I won't hurt them Will the birds perch on my shoulder Can I make it my world Would you give me a passport?
When push comes to shove Those that got your back, Are not the ones you love But actually the ones that love you It's a good thing if you love them too If not, it would be nice to love them back Because one good turn deserves another!
Maybe by not "receiving" what we prayed for, is the true answer to our prayers. While all we can see is the now, God can see far into the future.
Maybe if you had received the car today It would have claimed your life tomorrow. Maybe if you had gotten the job from the past weeks You wouldn't have applied for something bigger.
God knows better and He sees farther plus He cares for us 'cause He's our Father. Some things might look displeasing to us But it's for our good if we were to see the full picture We just have to rely and trust fully in God.
Whenever her happiness is sapped She would cry in the rain That's how she excretes her pain To lighten her emotional baggage To prevent any further damages After the saltwater discharge She would take a sound sleep And that's how she gets recharged Then she's back on her feet again
Hit me with constructive criticism I'm aware feedback is a gift I'm eager to unwrap it I'm ready to face the heat The positive, the negative Deliver it raw Don't sugarcoat it It will be received in good spirit
I love beautiful images painted with words Just as I appreciate love messages communicated through deeds I cherish places where love is the anthem and the way of life I love ears that truly listen with an attentive and open mind I love people who don't think that life is all about theirs and theirs alone I love to make people around me feel comfortable and feel at home Because the earth is not one person's own It is a shared home.
We are all different in many ways — In height and weight In maturity and age In skin colour and shade In culture and faith In riches and wealth In physique and strength In intelligence and wellness Nevertheless — we all belong to the human race We should give no place to hate We should let love have its way, It's the one thing we all crave. Diversity creates beauty and Unity brings strength.
Face your fears. With those running tears, Go head-on against that thing that is causing you stress. Remember... You have been blessed And called to be a success Fear cannot hinder your progress If you've been push to the ground, Pick yourself, dust your shirt And stand your ground Stare that thing in the eyes, Walk past it and Go get what you deserve And when you get it, walk someone else along that path So that success might multiply.
Pharmaceutical companies also want to profit from their drugs So they encourage doctors to prescribe to patients in bulk Not caring so much whether lives are lost The drugs will knock you to sleep thus easing your mind (that's the emphasis) But less is said about how the drugs messes up your body. Love of money over value of lives, that ain't right. In some other ways, they're saving lives, I know But we can't continue to weigh good over bad There's got to be a healthier way.
