she's
a liar and
a foolish woman
too full of herself or
frightened to
admit

she's lost without you

the
sun is gone
blue skies have faded and
clouds hover above
her

Sunrays
only reflect upon lovers
and she suffers at each glimpse of
their togetherness

Loneliness
has entombed her
she's chilly whether indoors or out
day and night even when temperatures
reach record breaking, hot

she

is

f r e e z i n g

Her
tears fall like
rainfall whenever she
encounters lingering scent of you
and her spent in the bedroom, bathroom, living room

in

every

single

room
christened
in the name of a
soul deep love

and like a shrine she enters each
kneeling, inhaling and worshiping EVERY **** image
that daily ritual brings

and

when
compelled to step
outside amongst scrutinizing eyes

she
prances in her
prefabricated glow trying
to convince those
around her

she
hasn't
missed
a
step
without
you

all
awhile
inside

she's tripping

and

crying out in
agony

since you

the
sun's
been
gone

and

she's cold

soul

cold

A Love For Hatred
I saw forever in your eyes. . .

                Then you closed them.
Wrote this when I found out my husband was in love with another woman.

Doesn't it hurt biting your tongue
and squeezing your mouth shut?
And you keep trying to change--
to be softer, less loud, less of
what the world made you to be.
So, don't keep trying to stay silent;
the wind never does; her songs
echo in the branches overhead.
The river laps and splashes
against the bank.
Someone always hears it;
someone always listens.
If birds call out to each other,
and they always answer,
surely if you speak
someone will understand.

Warning signs can't be read from inside the womb.

Long all you want to go back to that warmth and goo,
but your stuck out here for keeps.

Don't worry though;
Life is brutal and cold and ends too soon,
but for now just go back to sleep.
Yea sweet dreams.

We just met but I enjoyed your company
You were with child and you seemed just a little wild

We spoke only a few times, but I enjoyed those times
You seemed happy and ecstatic; I wonder if it was just automatic

That you wanted to exit never occurred to me, I guess you wanted to be set free
It’s hard to see any light when you’ve made a mistake; you couldn’t wait for daybreak

Was the pain too much to bear, couldn’t you find someone who cared?
Did you suffer in the last moments, did regret this too?

Now you’re gone and your child is too, what if you had it to redo?
Would you return and live the life you were meant to have?

Would our conversations grow old together, would we be strong against the weather?
Would your glowing countenance be true, your precious moments not just a few?

I wonder about the life your child would have had,
Would your child be like you, would she share your world view?

For a memory of the old times, you now live in these rhymes.

Lost Soul
I'm crying for help but silence is what they see
Smiling but the wounds are too deep
Do you see the pain?
Everyone's shoulder... but where's his?
They say he's such a nice kid
Give him an Oscar he earned it
He's putting on a grade A performance
Playing the role but never playing himself
It's a cold world when you're in it by yourself
