An overwhelming force
Rises from my belly
A fanaticism flows through my blood
As your words
Are delicately etched through my skin
Plunging deeper
Permanent marks
On my muscles, my bones
Seeping into my marrow
Bonded to every cell
A new conciousness is formed
A new heartbeat
My very essence eternally altered
Because I love you

There was always
something different
in the way
You looked at
Me

But I still
can't tell
if it was something in
You, or something in
Me

I didn’t remember you slept here last night
I got up and you were there as no invite
was needed
You barged into my dreams and ahead  was blur
I just needed a cup of coffee and there you were
again
As high as the trees and with your long hair
I could swear to myself you really weren’t there
You and your book always so focused in the higher branches
You were the one up there and I got the scratches
I never really knew why you needed that tree to read you book
I kept waiting and calling
not worth of even a look
you used to live here
You lived
and i woke up .

It is still a wonder
how each of its spines
keeps her alive.
Like how she holds on still
despite all adversaries
she had to fight
within her roots.

And with that
I came to ask...

Have you seen her bloom?

If you did,
you might have seen
the merit...

She's more than
a dozen roses' worth.

Turn It Off

TS
When the world gets too loud
for you to hear your own thoughts,
  turn it off.

When the violence grows
and the fear bubbles over,
  turn it off.

When the pain of a nation
weighs too heavy on your heart,
  turn it off.

When you have no other option
but to board up your windows,
  turn it off.

When your heart starts to race
at the thought of tomorrow,
  turn it off.

When the words in the air
grow to heavy to bear,
  turn it off.

When your dreams are overtaken
by death and despair,
  turn it off.

When it's too hard to find beauty
in this world anymore,
  turn it off.

When you have no more strength
to hold up your head,
  turn it off.

Closing out the heaviness of the world is not cowardice or ignorance, sometimes it just necessary. Don't judge others or feel fear about giving yourself time.
