From Jess's Lips
Us
There is you,
a marble statue
made to be seen
and not touched.
You,
a towering pillar
standing strong
when I cannot.
And then there is me,
a ball of clay
not yet hardened.
Me,
the flickering flame
caught in your winds.
We are different,
but when our
stars align
and shine just right,
we are beautiful.

Mosaic
I am lonely in thoughts
And practice
Like sport without training
And I will die knowing less than I have learned
Transparent in form & nature
Giving birth to myself in ways my mother couldn't
On stumbling ground
With no grace to be lost or found
I tremble in my humble footsteps.
Don't forget to go find yourself outside Newspaper ads & trendy fads. But forget who you are along the way in search of the many things that could mean

Love the little spider
Who naturally spins
its thin silken web
Love the little pig
Who is so happy
just to play in the mud
Love the little worm
Who is blind
but still tunnels the Earth
Love the little girl
Who hides herself
behind all those books
Because aside from what
other people may say
Everything that has been called
ugly
Will show you true beauty
some day
With love, kelsey

There will always be
Something to admire
In the poetic gracefulness
Of horizontal desire

Pinky promise
Holding hands
Arms on waist
Now let's dance
Set lips free
It's alright
Left confused
In the torchlight
I am grateful
That we're here
We embrace
I pull you near
Run through darkness
Leave our friends
Return before
The night ends
I've written too many of these.
