How can one person
Have so much power over another?
A person not even related to you
Becomes closer to you than your own mother?
They have so much power
They can control your moods?
They can change your way of thinking
They can change your attitude.
They can control your inner feelings
They can make you do anything.
They could take to the depths of Hell
Or make your heart sing.
Power like that
Could be so destructive.
Someone had that power over me
& my life was disrupted.
That person had that power over me
& I couldn't resist it.
They took their hold off of me
& quite frankly, I missed it.
They left me broken
They became my desire, my need.
She left me to depend on myself
But I didn't know how to lead.
Her power over me was
Scary & hypnotic.
Now I took back control
That power, she's no longer got it.
I released myself from her
I got my life back.
My heart no longer feels
Like it's under attack.
My heart is once again beating
& everything's perfect.
I often ask myself
Was all this even worth it?
I believe it was
Because I now know what to do.
Never let a person
Ever have that much power over you.
Is maturity a thing,
as we wither old?

Do we really learn our lesson,
and finally do as we are told?

I do not.
I refuse.
I will be smart and taught,
yet gleefully confused.

Never content,
never sold.
Always enthused,
and always boozed.

Life can't be seen as seriously real,
as we are all just playing a living game.

We can pierce our own Achilles heel,
or stand tall to pronounce all you overcame.

You undid the stitches of
My heart
And I watched
My broken pieces
Unravel and fall
Apart
Blood and tears
Did flow
As your gentle stroke
Soothed ache and hurt
You pulled out the final thread
And tossed away
The last sharp shard
Revealing a new
Beat and pulse
You placed a new
Heart shaped seed
Full of dreams
And hope
And sewed your name
To the blood and skin
At the place
Where once my
Broken heart had been
Who
I look in the mirror
Who do I see
That’s my face looking back at me
But who is this girl
She can’t be me
She’s not who she use to be
She use to sing
But she’s lost her voice
She use to draw
But she’s lost her imagination
She use to write
But she’s lost  vision
She didn’t realize she was slipping
She didn’t know she'd feel empty
Who is this girl
Who do I see
What happened to the girl that use to be
Me.

~

If I could come to you ..

be there for you
speak no words,
just hold you
in my arms,
place my hand in yours ..

I would

If I could be there ..

let you know
with my eyes
that all will be well,
just sit with you ..

I would

If I could be at your side

take your pain,
caress the hurt,
kiss your tears
with my hand on your heart ..

I would

Within the centre of your being
May you find peace
Every act of unconditional love
Echoes in eternity
Spread your wings and dance
Dreams into reality
If your situation  won't change
Then change yourself
The optimist is often as wrong
As the pessimist
But he is far far happier
Choose happiness

Ali once said
i've
lived
the
life of 100 men
i
float like a butterfly
and
i sting like a bee
i wrestled
with
an alligator
and
a polar bear
in
broad daylight
on top of
the
himalaya mountains
still
i rumbled
with
the
mighty lion of
the jungle
lord
i'm so fast and pretty
i can stick and move
as i dance
with
the
ali shuffle
and
knock you out
in round number 3
nothing can stopped me
i can't be moved
because
i am
the
greatest of all times
champ
you will always
be my hero
saints are born
and
not made
ali dead
at the age of 74
