Step 12: Swallow past the tightness in your throat

time slips through our fingers
sand through sand,
blown by the winds,
silent, forever.

your brain will shut down
along with everything else
your essence will have departed
and no-one will have seen you go.

expanding lungs

strange poetry
filling the mind

sounds set loose
from the throat

and silence
ending every song.

Signs of breakdown,
imperceptible, at first.
I'm sad but put forward
a false reason.

war drums are sounded
by the unthinking
the threat of the gun
by those who lost the argument.

I'm looking forward to hearing your sweet voice, and kissing your soft lips,
I'm look forward to pulling you in close, my arms wrapped around your hips,
I'm looking forward to seeing your smile, and pinning you to my bed,
I'm looking forward to seeing the sight, that I can't get out my head,
I'm looking forward to every moment I'll be spending with you,
and I'm kind of hoping that maybe, you're looking forward to it too
