For it has been
Time,
Who's sudden coincidences,
Her glaring indifferences,
Which in the grand

As the smallest
Increment,
Has failed to account,
Whether by years or
Decades, centuries,
All history,
That the perception

Dear
wordvango Dec 2019
Missing
are the words
to properly send forth
into the beyond,  the abyss,
The netherworld , your soul,
Sweetness,
Be they lost or never thought
of,  absent from the tableau,
any kind remiss,
which mortal souls,
besides the Bard,
have no words for,
are what
I wished to write down,
as your fitting
Eulogy.
But
I have not words
For.
Lie in peace.
Dear.

Only gods have known
wordvango Nov 2019
We are
      The epitome my dear,
In our dancing throes
           To Ravel's
          Bolero.
The lead
         We share
In giving taking the
           Best of love,
         Breathtaking.
Up there
        Our shine is known,
           Among all of the gods
      As proofs mere mortals
            Can compose
As well
        As any immortal does,
          With grace with
        Love,
            With unworldly
          Repose,
The touch of Gods
     And Angel's daring breath
             Unknown to
               Earthly man.
Come here to dine and feast
          Lovers there,
      you have reached
              That peak,
                   That pinnacle,
     Of ecstasy
Only gods have

I feel like hell
wordvango Nov 2019
It's dark
Some urge is building up
TVs on background
DVD I've seen
A thousand times

Silence is death
When clothed by walls
When spider webs on plaster
Are the limbs
When carpet is your forest
Lawn

Ten thousand
Seconds or more
I take a breath
My mind hearing
My heartbeats
Boredom

Memories
I try to bend
Refresh as before
With dim
Eyes old
And sore

I need the gardens glen
The red of roses
Yellow of dawn
Her kiss
And more

I yearn to
****** her with my words
And all I do
Is sound
Forlorn

Not is the dark
My lonely
Tale
I leave you

How sound a design

                Such as pi

Going on into eternity
          Eyes the nuclei
                 Spin

             And begin

                         Always will

Why

             Leading to more and

A little ditty bout Karl and DiAnne
Two old kids living in the heartland
Karl he gonna be the next Bukowski
DiAnne the beauty he loved in the backseat

******* on a bud on the porch
Dianne sitting on his lap
His hands tween her knees

C'mon Dianne let's run off
neath the shady trees
Dribble off them Bobby Brooks
Let me do
What I please

Ten cats
Two dogs singing

Oh yeah
Life goes on

Long after
All the kibble
Is gone

Karl sits back
Collects his thoughts for a moment
Thinks
With you and all
These
Animals

I ain't missing
Nothing.

Oh yeah

Life goes on

Persistence
wordvango Aug 2019
Along the in and out
Bank of the river
Eroded in twisted knots
By time rain and currents
Roots exposed like veins
On the skeleton of a skinny old man
Grass barely clinging
To what hasn't washed downstream
Yet, in shade given
By age old scrub oaks
Paltry in beauty
Compared to a willows grace
Grown in the sparseness of
fertility lacking any
Other space
The moss seems complacent
At home age old a centerpiece
Of a feast here,
No roses grown
Not any vermillion
Just washed wasted dirt
Sand loam,
An existence
For growth
A persistence

The dark crept up
Sudden like a thief

Intent on stealing your gems
  The pearls from your neck
     That gleam in your eye

As the steam from the asphalt curled
   A hemp rope rising
As a Cobra in the dim

To a pipers tune, in June
    Here am I, the visionary
        Reconnoiter the blank slate

Tallied awed and sputtered. How fast,
   The hand went in unfelt,
         And the sky went broke.

Fairly the human glow lights
    Of commerce flickered
Came to a point of aura

On the hill, as the cars sped up
     And the crayon black asphalt
         Simmered and howled

Each tree gaining form
   In the blaze of headlights
    Chasing shadows down

Morning ritual as I wipe
Sleepy eyes free of crust
Peruse the first light of sun
Glancing over her thigh her arms
Beside an in shade still face
Still in dreams and rest
Peacefulness beauty gift
I rise early to partake
As one bountiful lucky soul
Would smartly surely do
Before the eyes focus and this vision
Turns into a dream
I am myself unaware of having
And if reality it is

And the hills reached from under us

And mean it heartily
I live to love gathering it all and it starts with one small honestly felt touch or kiss.

wordvango Jun 2019
And when she awoke, he was holding her hand,
Toasted bread jam and coffee steaming
On the night stand.
A newly plucked daisy stood proud
In a vase as she opened her eyes  and looked in his.
She heard an echo
A memory of a promise
A pledge when
They met
I'll bring you
Breakfast in bed
I will treasure you.
I will make us a home with a porch and white steps and windows galore
To look out of and let the sun in.
If you will just hold my hand and believe in me, woman.
She saw in his eyes bright
The treasure of love found midlife how profound words become and acts thoughts and beyond all,
Promises live. How flesh fades
With ages how skin gains wrinkles, she pondered, but the eyes,
With love in them,
Will never fade
Dim or die.

And it may or may not make you puke
Or it might make you calm as any

Dark skinned virgins for the taking
Pigs apple mouthed grinning
Time as free as the wind,
Or me, I did once, perhaps the wrong blue snake stuck out I poked and it bit me, becoming belacose irritably insane deranged I belted out
The only song I know by heart.
" I want to Rock and Roll

It went on

Same words

Ah, this is where I introduce myself. Ahem, hello, my name is Eliot York. I built the site in the wee hours of many hot summer nights in 2009. Though the site has changed a lot since then, I'm still working on it part-time and it's intention is exactly the same: to create an online space for poetry that is, as much as humanly possible, 1) open to the dark 2) glowing with light, and 3) run with money but not for money. How're we doing?"  Which never did and now I try to scroll and get a blank screen. Guess someone offered enough to make his work for us turn into a marketable scheme. Guess the rent went up. Taking inspiration from the common conscience the cosmic compilation
I write of the most simple the stellar implications of a whole world of individuals coming to any decisions
Realizing it's absolutely amazing, what with how I see ****** hate prejudice **** crime ****** child molesters rich billionaires complaining about foodstamps recipients as they bilk public entities accounting for it with we all do it. As I watch the stadium rise out of ashes of torn down blackened buildings a third paid for the rich from public coffers, I see sit amazing. How I've lost touch not just with human nature but nature herself. And I sit watching this man made monster gobble the earth .
It's becoming us. The earth is becoming just us. Our needs wants lists desire. Immediately. I want.
We're teaching it.  It's becoming more ingrained with every generation. I deserve.
So I'm  just going to hibernate in a hole not listen not react. Hide forever. Till we all bust.
I see it in the collective.
Theres no conscience left
I'll come out when it's just us in a ball all hurling through the universe no earth underneath.

Herfiffity the muse
wordvango Apr 2019
Mused once on serendipity deciding
The left was more right than the other way
Did not make such a decision wildly
Without many thoughts
And deliberations
Deliberately
She took months of imposing on friends and acquaintances asking all
Kinds of personal questions not
Accepting their nods for answers she needed quotations , she pestered
And poked spoke in rhymes and leading modes trying to find the one
truth by being intrusive enough to see through them. Was she pre-ordained for this mission of magnificence at being ignorant to find truth or was that the way the mainstream of humans are, or was she bounding new limits founding an orthodox or crossing some limit.  See Herfiffity was once younger still young but above the legal age at the minute she gave out her ****** mind to the right then thought right about it and left.
And how she wept.

To such beauty unfolding
how, life is told

I want to think,
In the eyes of a mother
teats swolled and young
depending so
Much upon

Those fierce eyes tell
Me so, wild as the winds cold
You have soul
chilled by aloneness
You are touched now.

So brave me this glance,

Make a life somehow
As well as you have
And be true to it.

I want to breathe maybe tomorrow
Her perfume of neck glory a scent
Of her hair my pillow is dry
And the journey long

To make better the end for both us
when I taste her desire
And I find the end of the rainbow

undeterred by time or luck I'm

I guess
wordvango Mar 2019
Less clear of the upper waters
More a bottom stirring brown
Around this bend in the woods amongst oaks garnished by moss
Where in the 1800's they say
A black man swung from this tree
And if you visit on the anniversary
You can hear him sing,
He sings, "long by the sins counting oh lord, I've seen your glory, about how men may be weak, men may be
Horrid, in times soon, dear Jesus,
Alongside a stream, stirred up water around a corner, a man may see
Thy glory clear".
And it's rumored the song carries through the air like morning doves
On Easter, or doves Christmas morn.
Sitting here I hear, a squirrel in the swinging branches, scurrying left then right about his business clear,
No doubt there is a shadow to west cast dim, and from the high thick limb,
A ropes mark is left.
So man and tree are one now. And stream around the bend the water brown in remembrance, perchance, and the ground below always barren, the squirrels doing?
I guess.
In animosity mocking
Men's ignorance.

Not the tv always on or the last beer.
I think of you
In your bed
And me here
And how to make
Miracles happen.
Hope after hope
Glows then burns out drowned like the

A beret pulled down over your left eye
hands on your hips leaning left that right hip sharp as a knife
A sly smile the picture
Of total sexiness
On my king bed

seductive
A vision
You made me fall in love

for once I knew what it was all about
The release more than
Just *******
The talk the kissing the interest the contentment
The total need, the wanting to spend
Mornings naked cuddled in sheets
On the couch crying
Watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's"

Totally comfortable to let you see
Me vulnerable. More than naked.
See my soul.
I turned you on to grits.
Was happy to see you like your eggs
Sunny side up
And bacon crisp,

And that look in your eyes as I was pleasing you like a mirror

Its all done gone
wordvango Mar 2019
Just meandering, dear.
A day in the life of a
Mere man. A can of grief in his hand.
Smoke clouds above billowing.
Hopes tapered down into small
Twigs by time.
And noticing,
The sun rises quite the same.
Just as bright from the east still.
Blue drapes still paint the beyond
As they have always.
And the black nights are still speckled in glitter.
Yet time itself seems to have gone racing right past our feeble slow
Old wrinkled perception.
And before you draw from the pipe it's tomorrow. Again.
Barely time left to remember.
To draw upon all you learned
Who you loved and those who are gone.
It's a bitter bright yellow sunrise today.
And it's all done gone in its glory
In my last
heartbeat.
