"The only constant
In the cosmos
Is Change."

A student asked:
"And what of Being?"

Marlowe!  Dark and dangerous Kit Marlowe
Whose hooded eyes, like a subtle serpent’s, held
In mysterious charms Hero, and too
Leander, perhaps, in the ways of night

And in the councils of foul Walsingham
Where innocence and guilt knew not each other
Through sly reptilian tangles of false oaths
Among the pale queen’s writhing coils of shame

Beneath which altar, then, or perhaps none
Was the famous reckoning paid, and done?

It’s not at all reactionary, tho’ it might be drivel.

You will never be a dying flower.
No swarms of sick thorns will
plague you.

He will lay his hands over
you and all that ails you will
be still waters.

All sickness will wash away and
you will rise afresh, born anew.
To sing, dance, write and ride
to the winds of life with
joy.

Kim, take all the time you need because nothing is
more important than your health.
You're a strong person. I believe in you.
I pray for you to have a quick recovery.
Much love, hope and blessings

Fluffy, funny friends
They rub when we slap
They run when we walk
They chase when we eat
They sleep when we work
They love when we hate
Truly the best are cats

By Unknown
My inspiration is my cat, Badger.
THE OLD WOMAN AND HER OLD CAT

Beside me sit and purr my cat,
So cute a kitten when you sat
On my lap when l brought you here
To live with me so small and dear.

I was then greying when you were
A little kitten of soft fur.
I used to feed your little mouth
And watch your small teeth in their growth.

Your heart and mine both beat us through
To this old age with its sad view.
We both sit near this well lit stove
And think a lot before we move.

My cat, you are my dearest friend;
You shared my trip to this old end.
I wonder if we'll meet up there,
Where life will be quite free from care.

I suppose there has to be a reason
or at least a note
to mark that day--

He ate his breakfast
She let him out
He walked along the railing like the plank
defying death for pleasure
of his lady's company
to get his belly rubbed
sprawled long
across her lap

She released him
to chase the squirrels of his dreams
to his black cat adventures
to the aching green of life's
late summer ways

But, the days assemble against your return

May the angels find you quickly
my darling, Bailey
Dark beauty of coal
I was a Tuesday, bereft
You disappeared--
like the shadow of a whisper

Disappeared like hope--
in the last blow of day
Black cats, so often feared by the superstitious, are the last to be adopted at shelters and often singled out for cruel treatment by the heartless.

Bailey was on "Death's Row" after being seven months in the pound. Even his status as "The Pet of the Week" could not get someone to want him.  I saw his little vid with the TV reporter --and he belonged to me.

My first impression of him:
"Gawd! what a tall cat!"

So many words - left un told
So many questions - left un answered
So many moments - left unconquered
All left behind – for the past to treasure
And headed ahead into the future
Into the awaiting unknown

So much there is – that I need to say
So much there is –  that I still wish I knew
So much there is – that I wish I could do
Now, the puzzle is left – halfway
Its pieces all scattered here and there
For as long as a lifetime they will stay where they are….
Un touched……un solved…!!!!!

Why – Oh God, did it have to begin only after it ended…??
Leaving behind for me a gift of disillusion…
Wrapped in tears – and pain
Why, when I could – I didn’t
Then why when I cant – I repent…
Let all the mountains
Fall on their knees as the world
is cleansed, born anew
A really REALLY old haiku I never published here.
Just reading through my old stuff.
Thanks everyone!
