Will you Stand Up
Against the grain of society
Defying deceptive opposition
Denouncing  Satan, The One
Who’ll Claim to be almighty God?
He mesmerizes the world
Delivering dyspeptic rants
Denounced all other gods
Popularity grows worldwide
Creating Miracles Healing Sick
Fallen Angels all around him
Evil Demons , chaos destruction,
Will you say “that’s not God”
“That’s the prophesied AntiChrist”
Knowing the consequences
Your Life expectancy
Diminishes swiftly
Instant Death

Will the Ends
Justify
The Means

The Last act
Of defiance
Will takes
Immense
Courage

Faith
As small As
A Mustard Seed
Can move
Mountains

Emulating
Role models
Shadrach
Meshach
Abednego
Daniel 3:8-30

Will you refuse?
To bow down to a
self-proclaimed god
At the threat of death?

Most lukewarm Christians
Can’t withstand temptation

Lead us not into temptation
But Deliver us from evil
(From the Lord’s Prayer)

Much to my chagrin
This is how a normal day begins

Just like a Mercurial Californian
Morning, noon and night
California girl’s foresight
Longing for weather just right

Too cold at night
Too warm by day
The weather needs to be
Just my way

As the days grow hot
We Dressing in layers
A feo pua
I’d rather not

Such the way of California play
Tank top light shorts, zip up hoodie
Bathing suit always underneath
As the weather increases
Articles of clothes releases

A bead of perspiration
Smudges artisan make up
Irritation Hours of conception
Many shade of perfection

Once translucent powder
Gets moist tacky
Splotched patches
Look, wacky

Protecting the complexion
Shadowing and contour deception
To get every color demure not bright
to make everything just right

Defeating the Sun continually heating
A neck cooler now, that’s cheating
The weather never used to be this way

A California day hazy in the morning
Without warning they begin
Santa Ana winds blowing, dies away
Ending in a perfectly comfortable sunny day

Now we contend with chem trails
Severe blankets of pollen
Covers everything Geez !
Even my dog has allergies

What is it worth 1967?
By Buffalo Springfield

Word, art
This is a picture of smoke looming above a nuclear bomb. I recognize a strong meaning and dichotomy contained in the bomb
BLT Webster’s word of the day challenge
May 19 Antithetical

CJ Sutherland May 15
As a newbie, we are unaware
We go through life as if we care
Incompetent inept go here or there
Thinking that we know it all
Inevitably comes the fall

Then we slowly realize
As it begins, the End
of our demise
we didn’t compromise

However, it’s more
Than just the fall.
We thought
We were
Impervious
10 feet tall.

The older we get
The more we realize
The ignorant follies
Of the less wise

Pride before the fall
Comes towards us all
We paid no mind
To the warnings call

Greed, Lust,
A wild ride
Envy Wrath
Look inside
Gluttony, Sloth,
Our  Guilty Pride

Don’t let this list
Be your guide

It’s OK not to know everything
It’s OK to be a teen in between
It’s OK to misread a panic scene
It’s OK to admit your wrong

Do the dance,
Sing the song
Don’t act wise,
Apologize

Pretending
you know it all
Inevitably
The jig is up

Never ready For the call
Will you learn the lesson
of the fall
knowing you don’t
know anything at all.

There is always
a lesson.
To endure
It’s OK not to be sure
we were all
once an amateur

The difference between
a young adult
Sprung on life
And a middle aged
Disillusion lost soul
Is  our experiences

The lessons learned
When It’s your turn
To be on top
Oblivious
Ignorant
Acceptance

There will be a time
When you’re not
It’s not how high
You climb

It’s how you endure
After the fall
Wisdom
comes to us all
Will you ignore it?
Or answer Life’s call

Foot note
This was written for a seventh grade grandchild going through life on stress levels. She creates herself. She says this to herself now it’s OK to be wrong. I don’t have to know everything.
I’ve always said to the grandchildren, you have two ears, and one mouth listen twice as much as you speak

Footnotes
There’s something that happens
between mothers and adult children.
No matter how old the child is
when they visit their mother
they always reverting back
to their child state.
Unspoken respect
The adult child
Dutifully places themselves
In a childlike state
Weather, conscious
or unconscious
The bond
Is real
