My mind is bleeding
with words. Every morning
I would puke. I'm over thinking
again. Only when I'm sleeping,
I could taste serenity. Dreaming
of things we could be. How interesting.
Then I'll wake up with my demons kicking,
I wish it'd stop obsessing.

Do you get them too? When your mind won't shut up about possibilities, it makes you so scared that you'll throw up? Daily?

Whether it happens next... or this year

The vote

In memory of the last time I shed 'this tear'

And wrote... a piece

For the blood that flooded the streets

When in vain we sought

For calm... for peace

In a situation that was out of our control

A raging fire that almost engulfed and burnt all

When we all watched our motherland fall

Almost

When darkness threatened to blind all... or most...

Kenyans

When a neighbour would suddenly become a stranger... a ghost

Alien

Incited by the devil's seed

Damien

Brothers, sisters overcome by evil... greed

The same one...

That would then start a war... civil

And feed... off it

I, one individual Kenyan plead

That this time we say no to violence

We 'off it'

Let the disgruntled nurse his frustrations in silence

No blood for 'office'

And let us not get coaxed into foolish acts

To ourselves, we owe this

Let hatchets be buried away with the bones

Old ghosts can't haunt us

I shed a tear for peace this... or next year

Deaf ear to he that tries to taunt us

'Make the right choice'

I hope I reach many

And many hear my one voice

But this message cannot just be spread by me... so its 'we'

We can do it, and God wills it

Let it be

That we journey toward serenity

To a better tomorrow... come with me

The best way I can encourage my brothers and sisters

Is through poetry

For as a country and a culture we are destined to soar sky high

Thus... 'the pride of Africa'

We should always be

Peace.

I'm going insane
Voices in my brain
Tell me to quit
Alone in the rain

Give me a hand
Even if its cold
I'll give you mine
Then we'll grow old

One of us gets sick
And the other cries
How can I lay here
As the one I love dies

Let me know
What more I can do
Because I love you
And I know you do too

Your final day on earth
I made you my wife
I'm so glad to have met you
I'll remember you for life

Thousands of sunsets
And even more tears
I'll capture it all
While I conquer my fears

This one's for you
As you'll always be a friend
I'll  never forget you
And I hope to see you again

As you want to see me dead,
come see my dead body,
buried at the cemetery
near your house.
And know,
my tombstone
is the abandoned one.

n.e
I might be dead, but my spirit is there to keep you company.
si seulement j'avais su
que tu es mon monde entier
la flamme de mon âme
qui me sauve toujours si aisé
quand tu m'a embrassé
cette jour
il y a trois ans
sous les arbres de l'automne
des feuilles qui sont
dorées, croustillantes, intemporelles
comme notre chaleur.
je ne l'aurais pas cru
juste un petit poème à propos du debut de mon amour

Words are amazing
They build sentences
They tell stories
They end lives

Words are taught to us
Some learn them faster
While others are left behind
The left behind become the unfortunate

Without words communication would be dead
Everyone would be lonely
Nothing to do because you couldn't ask
Our lives are centered around words

Words are used to build confidence
Some write speeches or notes to a lover
They show what people believe
And with the up are downs
Words are used to break confidence
Some speak them to hurt others or themselves
Some write about how they are already broken
The last note you were written has been filled with love
While the last note your lover writes,
Is their way to say goodbye

Words are everywhere
Good and Bad
Notes
Love Notes
Suicide Notes
Words

Nothing hurts more than dreams that don't start
Memories that Don't end
Pain that wants to be friends
Lovers that always pretend
Opinions with no stand
Blind artists with with beautiful art
That they never get to see

While those who see never appreciate the beauty that's within

I've been searching for a metaphor
in your eyes
that does not reside there

Searching for the words
to express the beauty of your being
in a language not yet invented

You are the metaphor
You are the language

I've written poems
in your meter and rhythm
on the small cracks in my heart

No form
no structure
does justice

You are free of form
so I write to you in the freedom that you are
the freedom that you've given

There are things we cannot see
nor say
But in you, they are seen
In you, they are said

You are the direction faced when I pray
The prayer and what is prayed for

The question
and the answer

Pouring over every word
Searching for perfection
I've come to realize

I've been searching for a metaphor
In your eyes
The existence of which cannot be seen
In such a small and subtle beauty

You are the metaphor
It is in everything you are

You are the poetry
I've always wished to write.
