If
If you were a book,
I'd read you again.

If you were a ride,
I'd wait in line.

If you were my dream,
I'd never awaken.

If you were a star,
I'd never look down.

If you were a flower,
I'd never look up.

If you were mine,
I don't know what I'd do;
But I'd do it.

People always tell me that the future contains the best for me
But when my sad days became weeks I began to plea
But when my sad weeks became months I began to disagree
But when sad months become years I was convinced that it’s simply
My destiny
It's just the way I feel

tell me your darkest fears
show me your deepest scars
so when everything else falls apart
we'll have each other's broken hearts.

i try to
i really try to
i want to create
a poem solely for you

but everytime
i try to do one
i can't find the words
it just can't be done

i asked myself
is it because
you're not
inspiring enough?

but it was then
when i realized

how could i possibly create
a poem inspired by you

when you inspire me more
to be with you.

"Why do you stay,
                 if they won't for you?"

"No one ever stayed for me,
                 and maybe at some point,
                                    no one stayed for them.
                                                    And maybe if i do,
                                                                they'll change their mind"

i never knew
how much
i'd hate
the past

like how
'i love the way
you look at me'

sounded better than
'i loved the way
you looked at me'

I think
as artists
we owe a lot to pain.

Put on
a robe of thorns
and write

about the nice weather outside
and that delicious burger
you had today.

Write about happiness
when you're in pain-
beauty.
Never fall in love with a poet
for their words are sometimes lies
on occasions they're a shield
on occasions a disguise

They will take you on a journey
upon which they bare their soul
in a bid to ease your burdens
in a bid to make you whole

But in every word they choose
for the stories that they tell
lies a little piece of heaven
and a little piece of hell

Tormented souls we poets are
sometimes quite broken and despaired
in search of lost expressions
missed by others who once cared

Never fall in love with a poet
unless you're prepared to share their pain
to hold them close on the darkest nights
over and again
