I remember the evening
that we sat clinging
to paper cups
of coffee gone cold

over secrets spilled and memories told
two bodies cursed
with hearts grown old

behind your eyes
I found new worlds
A winding road stretched out for miles
to a small cafe at the end of the isle

Sweet pastries filled the mouths
of those who sat beside us
and stayed for a while.

How the hours went by,
people just passing through
The descending sun ending
a forever with you.

Colors of emotions
form into the ocean
so vast
dark
its depth immense

The hallow eyes
of a lost and broken child
waiting for a sign
a sliver of hope

Beckoning for a reason
to let her heart stay
while at the same time
knowing nothing will ever change
what's affected her

How the truth
can't be erased

Taking a deep shaky breath
she lets the darkness swallow her
in hopes of finding the light
that seemed so far out of reach

I can't sleep
Everytime I remember your words
They snap and recoil
And hurt me awake
Next time when someone
Promises me forever
I'll just smile
Look them in the eyes and ask
How long is forever to you.

I yearn to wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread and the strong aroma of a new batch of coffee. Sat on the balcony in a quaint apartment overlooking the ocean - mug in one hand; cigarette in another - with a view that words cannot begin to comprehend. The cool salty sea breeze tousling my morning bedhead as I look to you, my heart is full - I am the luckiest girl in the world.
Absolutely cannot wait for Italy.

How I long for the warmth of your skin
Your naked shoulders against my chest
To endure your cold feet on my legs
As I lay my head to rest

I want to feel your breath moving
The hairs that reside on my arm
As I pull you closer, ever closer still
To make you feel secure, to keep you warm

I want to know the smell of your hair
Map all the freckles and marks on your back
Like a personal and intimate constellation
That has sprung from the slender hind of your neck

Follow it down to the curve of your hips
Stroke your breast as you fall asleep
Catch the sigh that escapes your lips
As I whisper “ Goodnight, my love”
