A Mistake
Sophie Matheson Jun 2018
I threw you away
hoping you'd come back
Little did I realise
I threw a broken boomerang

A Reflection
Sophie Matheson Apr 2017
A broken mirror gives the wrong reflection
But you managed to hide your cracks from the world
I can still see them, seeping with lies

Innocence
Corrupted with the guilt of knowing
That you could see yourself what you were doing

Destruction of happiness
A hollow body with a soul that had died
You were at the threshold, made it slower, more painful

I couldn't bare it any longer
I was suffering silently
You were watching me with a smile on your face

You could see I was hurting
Pretending you cared
But laughed when I finally gave up

Everyone loves you
But they don't see who you really are
A broken mirror, pretending to be perfect

Easier Said Than Done
Sophie Matheson Apr 2017
You found it so hard to love
But you said the words so easily
~It was all a facade~

Liar
Sophie Matheson Apr 2017
I placed my delicate trust in your destructive hands
My fragile heart into your careless soul
All I got back was lies and deceit
Now that I'm hurting, you've achieved your goal
~I knew it from the start~

My Child
Sophie Matheson Apr 2017
My Child
I can't say I love you now because how
does someone love when their heart is
broken
stopped beating..
Ripped from my chest through my own acts of selfishness
I had to protect you from the world
but you were the one needing protected from me.
Every time I had to look at your face
your beautiful, delicate, face
made me sick
you look just like the man
who did this to me
the man who forced me
the man who gave me a child
that I had no say in.
I cannot love you
for you were not conceived with love
only terror, fear and agony.
Which is what I've gone and put you through
through no fault of your own
I became as evil as him.
Sleep well my child
who didn't get the chance
to be loved
or live.

The Broken Dream
Sophie Matheson Apr 2017
Magical, mysterious, meaningful
Dangerous, destructive, deadly
What once I cherished
Now the source of my pain
I dreamt of you
Again.
~There's something painful about good memories~
