I once got lost,
In the depths of time,
Where the fire was my friend,
And as the light of the flame guided me,
Through the dark alleyways of the maze they call history,
I came upon a watch.
And on the front of this watch
Was inscribed a quote,
Telling of the misfortune of the lands from which it came.
I called it the shadow game,
And,
As it lured me further into the depths of the invisible labyrinth,
It became clear that it was not true.
It had all been a rouse,
One which I had been naive enough to believe,
With all my heart.
And as I cried for help,
In the darkness of the maze,
I realised I was alone,
Lost,
In a puzzle never to be solved.
And I looked to the front of the watch again.
Only in the darkness can you see the stars
So I looked up,
And sure as sure,
I saw the galaxies of our ever expanding universe,
Floating above my head,
And I realised I was not alone,
And never would be.
the inscription is a quote by Martin Luther King Jr.
the name is a reference to Greek mythology:  In Greek mythology, Zeus places his son born by a mortal woman, the infant Heracles, on Hera's breast while she is asleep so that the baby will drink her divine milk and will thus become immortal. Hera wakes up while breastfeeding and then realizes she is nursing an unknown baby: she pushes the baby away and a jet of her milk sprays the night sky, producing the faint band of light known as the Milky Way. When you touch me I don't know how you feel
When you speak I see only what I can't hear
You give your love and I so want it real .

I want to live in your milky way
Hide behind your stars peeping out
Fly through your galaxies with you
Be a super nova when we kiss
And be the speed of light going no where
Sleep under planetary rings next to you
I want to be your universe
You are my cosmos

They call me goddess,
convincing and invincible,
armed with shield and spear.

They paint me golden,
crowned and crested helm,
child of Zeus alone.

No mother nor footprints to follow,
it is hard to know if this path is my own.
They tell me I am the daughter of wisdom.

But am I the only of the divine whose heart
is not full?

I hold the city to my chest
but have always measured loneliness
as the distance I am from myself.

They call me ****** of Athens.
Grateful for my olive tree,
they tell me I am
strong in will and mind;
no need for a lover.

But sometimes I wish Poseidon had
poisoned this city long ago,
for I cannot be Athena alone.

Chains

No one really understands why
they were born to live then sentenced to die.

There is no map made to show
which path to leave or where to go.

Most stay put in one little place
regret it not 'til death they must face.

Life's thick chains we do not see
wrapped 'round our ankles; we cannot leave.

I felt those chains once burning my skin
my heart had feared they would win.

Each year they grew a little tighter
until one day I pulled a little harder.

The first link to break was scariest of all
for I was afraid if I left I would fall.

I took one step forward then
my doubt had stayed and so I went.

Please
do not tell me
that you love me

Because
Ill be the girl
who broke your heart

For
I do not know
how to love back

Please
do not be angry
when I leave you

Because
I am the one
who always gets away

For
Im not the girl
for someone to love
