I took each flower
Given me by you
I placed them in a jar
To dry and to keep true
Forever thinking of you
Who knew
That love could be
Like a dry, brittle flower
With no longer hope of life
True love is everlasting,
not even death can take it away.

True love will always linger,
even if another takes its place.

For in the heart and memories,
it will always hold a space.

So do not grieve forever,
a passing true love.

They carried your love
with them until the end.

So try not to guilt yourself so deeply,
When grief's grip starts to release thee.

And feelings of love begin to
find you once again.
I've seen people consumed with grief to the point
that their continued existence destroys them
And I can't help but think this is not what their love
would have wanted for them.
And that's the message I was trying to convey here.

She said he hurt her,
a wound wrapped in soft lullabies,
his voice a serpent
coiling 'round her dreams,
where the green fern forest
breathed secrets into the night,
and moss shrouded the bones
of forgotten civilizations.

In the day,
she fashioned dreams
like delicate glass,
eyes half-closed,
floating through the crowd,
a specter among the living,
while shadows,
like whispered promises,
clung to her skin.

At night,
the seconds drip drop,
heavy as rain on a tin roof,
each tick a heartbeat,
each pause a gasp,
he follows her
as a prayer follows its own
search for grace,
the memory of a violence
that needed no voice,
only the cold embrace
of silence wrapped around her.

In the twilight,
she gathers the frayed edges of her soul,
sifting through the dark
for remnants of light,
for the lullabies
that cradle her in the depths,
reminding her that even in shadows,
the heart learns to beat again,
even in the echo of pain,
there is a flicker,
a stubborn flame.
Softly slips the moment
In the waning of the day,
When the tenderness reflected
Lets a sadness fade away.
As the setting sun throws highlights
To tall timbers on the ridge
And the burble of the brook
Running soft beneath the bridge.
Flocking starlings settle
To gently chortle in the eve,
Whilst the maiden herds the cattle
In for milking, I believe.
The countryside quiescent
A peacefulness descends,
With the falling shroud of darkness
My velvet daylight ends.

They pass like phantoms in the shade
Their faces lost in mist
Voices dimmed to strings of time
That memory resists,
Features hover through the mind
Though details in-succinct
And threads of past performances
Occur but Indistinct.
I could have passed him in the street
But never caught his name
**** ghost of time's  a misery
Consumes me so... in shame.

Old friends walk in brotherhood
Through ancient tracts of time,
Though pained familiarity
Failing to define,
I almost caught our catch cry
In that old familiar song,
Some haunting shades of yesteryear
But....guess I got it wrong.
And then there were the stories
Which didn't quite add up
Like whiskey soured to water
Slipped in your favorite cup.

But come the next Reunion
I'll saddle up to go
Spend the dollars travelling
Attempt to make a show.
I'll hail the fellas loudly
And pound them on the back
Though all the while quite frantic
Thinking, "is it Joe or Jack?"
It's a product of the vintage,
A cursed sign of times
When you know he's struggling just as hard
Cos he can't remember mine!

As guardian, I was created, I watched

left alone above a canyon where others,

when he was a boy, he was a traumanaut,
an orphan, so he left the little lambs,
