I feel like a broken guitar string.
Waiting for someone to pull me into place.
As of now, I dangle—but I long to sing.
To play beautiful music with a smile upon my face.

hello again, my fateful friend,
your visit is alarming

your smile still as charming
your pressence is disarming..

Sometimes I wonder if
I’m the only one who sees my gift
as a curse,
and my curse as a gift.
Bent man, still proud,
Dark pants, brown coat,
Firm belt, white socks,
Lopped gait, slow,
Slow,
No cane, yet
Places need going
Even and especially by the
Old.
I stand a pedestrian witness
To his crosswalk constitutional
It matters not to him
that the red sign blinks
With the eyes of onlookers
Who follow the icons
of social construction.
I feel something like pride
For the figure still bent,
Crossing,
But the pride is not mine
So I release it with an exhale
And hope it reaches some kind corner
Of this difficult world.

Amber Fly

I want to keep each moment, trapped like an amber fly

But they pass right through my fingers, no matter how I try

Seconds turn to minutes, days and weeks go by

These moments I am losing, I want to keep them mine

I want to keep each moment, trapped like an amber fly

It’s a disheartening feeling when,
Your “very best”
Is their “not good enough”
I’m tryin’ really hard here, cut me some slack. Ya know what I mean? *insert sarcastic eye roll that masks the inner pain*

worn smooth by the waves.
