Sad faces seem more
More real than happy faces
Don't you think so too?
Mind telling me what you think?
There once was a girl
Whose laugh
Indelible
Brightens up
The whole room

There once was a girl
Always seemingly
Detached
Larger than life
They say

There once was girl
Even on the days
She does not
Smile
Beautiful, they say

There once was a girl
Who goes for weeks
Sometimes
Without speaking
Tired, she says

There once was a girl
In class staring out
The window
I don’t know her
I don’t know her
dedicated to the girl who's not okay, but that's okay
Sorrow is my sinking in an empty dream,
beckoning impulses slashed by the simple vision of broken time
Thoughtful sorrow lost in my mind
My life's diary
is not being written
just by me
dreams long lost
swirl around me

in the shade of Arjuna
winds sing a lullaby.

they never die
bide their time
in the cave of eye
neath layer of rhyme

don't the rustles fall silent
yet canopy of new leaves
grow above

crave the same firmament
and away from old griefs
seek new love?

in the winds' murmur
i would never touch them
the seemingly lost dreams

but quietly in the hopes' harbor
rekindle their flickering flame

and let flow in endless streams.
i'm struggling to come back, falling in love more with the drift.
Arjuna, a tree found in rural Bengal.
Things I have sacrificed
Efforts I have invested
Time I have spent
Love I have given

Thought they were appreciated
By the man I have always wanted
But I was wrong...
It's not what I expected

How do I "unlove"* you?
Asked by a woman named Genie
It was a scene from a movie
That totally hit me

Am I able to hate the one I love
Just because I didn't get what I believe I must have?
Or can I just learn to let go and forget
Of the man who doesn't want to  stay?
I composed this poem after watching a Philippine movie "Starting Over Again."
