It hit you like a sucker punch
With eyes wide open
Like the door I walked out of
Leaving your heart broken

Emotions cast about
Useless as wasted tokens

For the fair has ended
And I'm tired of pretending
So cash in your sentiments

There's no saving for a rainy day
I would prefer when I'm gone
Not to even remember
Your
Face
Love hurts

Her anger
Virulent as a southern storm in summer
Roars and rages invectives

Her eyes flashes of lightning
Swift daggers dispatching
Slivers of Shivers
Resonates unrequited love

Desiccation of hearts
Cold frigid and destroyed

A wasteland of memories
Strewn in mud
Irrevocable
Where love is void

Only an empty cavity of hope
Susceptible to

A masquerade
Of lies

Bus leaves in five minutes
Might as well be five hours
One minute feels like an eternity as
The rain begins to fall

Memories cascade
Over vibrant realities
Becoming bitter

As time rushes in
And love
Rushes out

Conversations become entanglements
Divisions of independent thought
Turned quickly into
Perfidious satire

The Thump Thump Thump
Of your fist
Against my heart head and face

I coexist but cease to exist
Hiding behind an overzealous pair of
Designer sunglasses    as if
Donna Karan
Could cover up the shame of your Designing

Thump Thump Thump
Fist wailing
Glass shattering
Relationship broken
The pieces scattered over time

Thump Thump

But I  love you
I thought you loved me  Thump

My mouth
Becomes a metallic ritual
Of beating drums
Played out in blood
Upon my emotions

The bus leaves in five minutes
Echoes through the station...

my heart pulsates
with envy of my eyes

for it knows love
whereas
the eyes
knows only lust

i am smitten
by your beauty

driven
by the desire
to be near you
to hold you
in essence
to know you

to drink of your wine
and loose myself
in it's,
indulgence

What are fallen stars?

Are they
Faded dreams,
Disappointments
Streaking across the night sky
Resoundingly repeating and reminding us of our failures? or

Are they,
The gaiety of children
Running amuck amongst the planets
Causing mischief and mayhem

Could it be,
That they are missives just for me,
Of a love Waiting patiently?

A love
I have yet to find divine
Tangible
A love all mine

Could fallen stars be
Remnants of a broken heart
Broken once too many,
Or love sabotaged?

For you see,
I have yet to find
My true love

But in searching
I have drowned...

In many a
Mirage
Love is special. The heart knows.
