Whatever happened to “with liberty and justice for all”?

You say all lives matter, but you have never known when yours hasn’t

No, because you were born with an invisible knapsack full of privileges

While I was born with imperceptible shackles around my feet

And the system, praise the political system, because it has done you right

Because your self-worth, and your value in society was assigned to you at birth

But you claim you cannot see color,

And the truth is, I believe you

With your white schools, paid for by your white neighborhoods,

Embraced by your white government, sheltered by your white police force

How could you?

But I can see color.

For our jails are darker than the northern Atlantic sky,

While our government is lighter than the hoods slung up by the KKK,

We must embrace the permeation of a rigid political system

Segregation. Cannot. End. Without. Integration.

So quick we are to claim there is no purpose,
As if everything happens in isolation,
It is easier for most of us this way,
Removing the notion of the soul,
Thus our basis for morality is ambiguous,
Allowing it to change at our whim,
In this mind frame self-interest rules,
There is no accountability to a higher power,
The weak prefer it this way,
They enjoy spreading their seeds of doubt,
For their strength is in others weakness,
A sad existence,
Ignoring the passion within themselves,
They love to say there is no god,
"Prove it" is the mantra of the faithless,
I ask them this,
How do the faithless prove love?
And if they can't,
Are they truly faithless?

In between the Milky Way and the black holes
Of the universe inside of this ever expanding mind
Growing only to see itself ever smaller
Humbled truth feels the most
Adoring
The fragile perfection of sparkles inside the morning dew
And the mind flows in all directions and thoughts
So random but in this infinite state
Logic is only a string you use to control the
Beads of experience and sometimes it helps
And in other times you get a glimpse
Of something unfathomably familiar
And you know that no matter how much Blessings you gathered in life
Without a contact it left an empty space
Or was it there since before the beginning
What DO I know in fact that cancels the
Clarity of the feeling that through a sideways
Glimpse I captured a snapshot of home
In the strangest of places
All this rumbiling cacophony of worlds
Yet again fails to explain
The absence of logic in something
That is beyond logic for it is
The meaning
And despite it all
Life goes on
You play your part
The way you must
The way you feel
And you still know so little
Feeling the truth on the periphery

Holic
Sticks and stones
May break my bones
But words cut deeper than you’ll ever know
It’s a torture so ever slow;
Crushing bones to ash
An activity so expecting
I almost find it welcoming?
So swift, we slash
So eagerly, we bash
Too often, we find ourselves staring at a way out
Too often, we continue running in circles
Back to what we wish would fade
Addicts to abuse; we moan
Sticks and stones
Oh my love, how they can break the bone
But words are the sharpest weapon mankind will ever know
And while my body and soul absorbs these scars
Promise one thing darling
The next time we play this game of sticks and stones
Do not utter a single word
Tell me what you think and if you find any grammar or spelling problems. Thank you for reading!

My love for you is like a sunburn
Painful as an opera, itchy as hell
O, a lesson I have learned
Love is a sickness that does not heal every well
I lay in bed--waiting for the day
Planning for the time my revenge will be paid
And with a smile painted on my face;
I will send you to your cold, heartless, fiery grave.
I'll sit by your tombstone with fresh, strong skin
You craved my soul into the deepest of caves
And so the Laws of Right and Wrong I will bend
To replace what once was mine, I take on a sin.
In the dead of night, you will hear me sing:
Witness what you have done to me
For I am your new King.
Thank you for reading!
