A Fantasy
Marian Jun 2013
Your lips were dew-kissed
Under the velvety sky
The air smelled
Of a June rose
Dancing in the meadow
The sky was studded
With twinkling stars
Like diamonds and crystals
I danced through the mist
And waltzed through the trees
And balled on the shimmering lake
I played my Harp with the Fairies
Who showed me the way to Fairyland
I came here through the hidden-secret door
So now I'm in Fairyland
At least I imagine it's so
Listening to the Enchanted music
Played with the most beautiful
Instruments ever
Perhaps, even some you've
Never heard before
Like bluebells kissed in dew
Chiming like crystals across the stream
Oh, how I'd long to soar
And be a Fairy
With a Key
To Wonderland
And to Fairyland
Even in illusions
I'd love to see this place
Called: Fairyland
Where all the Fae Folk dwell
But this is just
A Fantasy
Written in the sand

Belated Mother's Day
Marian Jun 2013
Even though it isn't Mother's Day,
I hope this poem is perfect in everyway,
I always love you so;
As the days come then quickly go.
I wish I could do something grand for you,
To show you that my love for you is true,
And I am not ashamed to say;
Happy Belated Mother's Day!
Your delicious cooking fills the air,
Made by your gentle hands with love and care,
Those beautiful hands lovingly kneading bread;
Or pointing me to bed.
Or lovingly stroking those furry darlings,
But you are my brown-eyed starling,
Sweeter then them, lovelier than them all;
You succeed and do not fall!
Loving hands dancing across piano keys,
It's tinkling melody floating on the breeze,
Holding a journal on your lap;
Listening to the rain on the roof tap.
Pretty brown eyes and light brown hair,
A long face of gentle care,
O, mother dear you are better than them all;
You succeed and never fall!

Happy Belated Mother's Day, Mom!

For My Sweetheart. . . Mom!
Marian Apr 2013
Always there to comfort me
Always there to whisper,"I love you"
Always there to be my Mom sweet and happy
Always there to cheer me up when I feel blue
Always there to be my twin sister
Always there to be my sweetheart
Never could there be a Mom lovelier. . . no never!
Always there to be my sweet sweetheart
Always there to be my pretty pink china rose
A heart of red love so pure....And she's my rose
She is always my Mom and sister that I dearly love
And God gave her to me from above
I love you so much, Mom dear
And you're always there to wipe away my tears
You are so very, very sweet
Thousands of times sweeter than the birds that tweet!

Raindrop Prelude
Marian May 2013
Mists of beauty
Sprinkles of rain
Rain-covered leaves
On the beautiful trees
Raindrops on the green grass
Raindrops everywhere
Raindrops on the lacy ferns
Raindrops everywhere I turn
Pines and evergreens
And lovely cedars sweet
Saturated in raindrop kisses
Such a lovely prelude
The misty forest
Is enchanted
This I say
This forest
Is enchanted
No matter what
This is where Fairies live
This is where Fairies dance
This is where their wings flutter
In the ever blowing breeze
This is where the harps
Are played
This is where their songs are sung
This is where the Fairies harp
Plays nocturnal melodies
And graceful notes
This is where my Fairies live

Spring's Serenade (Part 1)
Marian Feb 2013
Under the shade of weeping willow trees
The air is filled with birdsong an anthem sweet and beautiful
The soft sweet song of the bubbling creek
The fragrance of honeysuckles drifts from the forgotten garden
Where daffodils, violets, and many other flowers grow
Mountains high and valleys low covered in the cloak of spring
Hunter-green cedars and deep-green firs sway in the dancing breeze
Even the lonesome desert and vast wilderness
With its pretty sunrises and sunsets bears its own beauty
Morning glories in the Enchanted Forest unfurl their soft sweet petals
At Dusk when all are sleep
Sunrays shining through the dew covered leaves of the majestic trees
Waves wash onto the sea of time where lots of creatures live
And where fishes and sea turtles peep up out of the ocean
Where palm trees grow their lacy-green leaves providing shade for all
Where rocky island cliffs hold treasures forgotten a long time ago
When pirates hunted for gold
Where old forgotten battleships are at the bottom of the ocean
And the people on them long since dead. . .
Pearls and treasures hidden from sight at the bottom of the ocean
Where dolphins sleep and play ready to save some swimmer
Sea-green coral and seaweed are pretty ocean plants
Seashells at the very bottom of the ocean
Seagulls sing to one another from the coconut trees and many other birds sing a
Tropical anthem blending with the sweet perfume of hibiscus and a lone tropical girl
Plays a sweet song on the ukulele
And the horse gallops on the sandy shore happily enjoying his freedom
And the world to all is beautiful
Tropical sunsets blazing dark goldish- orange with the silhouettes of palm trees
On the beautiful rocky island
And the world is hushed to sleep with the tropical lullaby of the singing waves
When the world awakes with dew the sweet hibiscus

Snowflakes Of Joy
Marian Apr 2013
Snowflakes of joy falling from the sky,
Snowflakes of joy falling from the clouds way up high,
Hear the children's laughter echoing in the dale;
And the sky is wearing it's lacy veil.
Snowballs flying through the sky,
Singing birds through the air fly,
Snowflakes of joy dancing on the street;
Waltzing to the sound of pattering feet.
Snowflakes of gladness dancing on my window,
Watch the happy children playing in the snow,
Snowballs flying through the sky;
And the clouds smile down from their home on high.
Snowflakes of joy silently falling down,
Dancing and waltzing on the snow-covered ground,
Snowflakes of peace falling from the sky;
Singing birds in the air doth fly.

Tropical Beauty
Marian Mar 2013
Part One

Tropical Moonlit Nights full of beauty
with the singing lullaby of the waves
such a picturesque Night with twinkling stars
underneath a deep-blue sky
palm trees sway in the summer night breeze
and the hibicus flowers bloom at Night
in the morning the dewdrops kisses their satin cheeks
and the hibiscus flowers smile at the dew
which are like jewels surrounding their beauty
tropical waterfalls surrounded by ferns, moss
and tall majestic palm trees
on the water sits moss-covered stepping stones
and bubbling, flowing, and singing loudly is
the tropical waterfall which holds such infinite beauty
and sometimes when it rains a rainbow the sign of promise
will arch over the waterfall and show off its bright colours
then ever slowly it will fade and pretty soon it is hidden
behind the veil of the sky where it will sleep
then awaken and show itself once more

You're my Sweet Pea Princess
Who weaves flowers of every kind
Into a chain or a necklace
Of soft, satin petals
My Sweet Pea Princess
You are my daily inspiration
And you often inspire
My every latest poem
I love you with all my heart
My Sweet Pea Princess
Who will sometimes
Play with pompom *****
Or some kind of kitty toy
I love you so much, darling girl
And always enjoy our feline kisses
Exchanged between our faces
Your soft, furry head against my cheek
Or butted up against my forehead
You're my Sweet Pea Princess
And I love you dearly

Silent Bay
Marian Nov 2012
The moon's full rays hit across the bay,
Will the ship make it to shore? No way!
The ship is about ready to sink,
There are rocky pebbles, islands, and coasts on either side;
The sinking ship no more doth glide!

The sky is black clouds across the black sky and moon make everything look creepy,
The sinking ship hits a rock and moaneth creakily,
There are rocks and rocky islands on either side,
They that are in the ship are trapped inside!

There's no way around the rocks and islands,
Nothing but silence.
Will this be the moon's last ray?
No wonder people call this place Silent Bay!

The bird skims across the shivering water's way,
Silence. . . The Silent Bay!

May only beauty, wishes, and dreams

When butterflies kiss the Dawn
God paints a sunrise in the east
When butterflies kiss the Dawn
Dewdrops kiss the flowers
And last Night's raindrops
Drench the fresh earth
When butterflies kiss the Dawn
The veil of Heaven lifts
And shows fluffy white clouds
Drifting lazily by
When butterflies kiss the Dawn
Buds unfurl their soft sweet petals
And the smell of honeysuckles
And millions of other flowers
Fill the air of Dawn
With a heavenly fragrance
When butterflies kiss the Dawn
Flowers waltz in the meadows and fields
When butterflies kiss the Dawn
Sunrays dance through my window
Filling my room full of light
When butterflies kiss the Dawn
All is beautiful

Lighthouse
Marian Mar 2013
The sky is matching the blue of the sea,
This place is a treasure for me,
The lighthouse is sitting on a rocky island;
Near the shore with cool sand.

The sun is ready to sink in the sky,
Yet the Lighthouse remains sitting on it's island on high,
The blue waves are in motion;
In the sapphire ocean.

Oh, such beauty is seen here,
This place I hold very dear,
With the green moss growing on the island;
Which stands next to the shore of sand.

I love the sky of blue,
With it's pretty white clouds passing through,
This place is so pretty;
This place is lovely!

I love this place don't you see?
That I hold this place dear to me?
This place is so beautiful I could cry;
This place that I can only see in my mind's eye.

Hidden from our sight,
Because of the cloudy sky,
What a gloomy day!

No birds will sing,
The sun will not shine forth light,
Today is so grey!

So very dismal,
Today is so different,
It is not cheerful!

The sun will not dance,
It won't play it's playful prance,
Nor cast it's sunrays.

A Day In Fairyland
Marian Jul 2013
Flower petals fall from trees
In a kaleidoscope of colours
Red, pink, blue, white, lavender,
Orange, and yellow
Different instruments
Chime out a melody sweet
Harps, violins, and oboes
Fill the air
Along with violas, cellos,
Acoustic guitars, pianos,
And many more instruments
Each one sounds beautiful in it's own way
But Fairies play and create a melody
That sounds so heavenly
Beautiful rainbows
Fill the sky with a maze of colours
And raindrops refresh the earth
Which feels so nice and warm beneath our feet
Dewdrops kiss those flowers
The same dew that sparkled
On the grass like a million jewels
Enchanted by those honeyed rays
Of earthbound sunshine
Dancing and waltzing in the morning air
We walk down those paths
That seem so large to us
And are spellbound by the shade of the forest
We sit down to rest
On those mushrooms that grow
Alongside that forest path
We love to appear
In front of your eyes
And make you look at us
In a dazzled sort of way
In Winter we love to fly
And walk upon the blanket of snow
And play a tune upon the frozen icicles
Hanging from the pine needles
Covered in white snow
We love to fly about
Those falling snowflakes
And dance with them
Through the grey sky
In Spring we love
To fly and dance
In a meadow of flowers
I could go on forever
But here I stop

I hope this sounds okay!!! :)

Drift across the air
Filled with the song of birds
Singing in the branches

Petals dancing in the breeze
Little dainty tea cups
Tinkling
Little delicate sweets
Put upon beautiful plates
As we sat in the hollow of lilacs

Two sisters walked by the tropical shore
And gazed at the sunset the west
On an island with the silhouettes of palm trees
They sat, and watched the pretty sunset
As it faded
Like a painting being erased from canvas
After that came Night and we danced
With the Sea Fairies
We sang the prettiest Tropical songs
And hushed the world to sleep
And we played on the Enchanted ukulele
And on the prettiest harp you ever heard
We sung and danced
And played on our ukulele and harp
All Night long
The next morning the dew
Like sparkling shining jewels
Kissed the hibiscus blooms
And waked them up from sleep
And the breeze stirred
The lacy green leaves
Of the majestic palm trees
Sunrays felt lovely and warm
On our cheeks
And the ocean never
Felt cooler
When we waded through
The singing waves that morning

The Beauty Of Flowers (Multiple Tankas II)

The garden trellis
Climbing Salêt Moss rose blooms
Perfume light and sweet.
Light lavender-pink blossoms—
Nice outside or in a vase.

English bluebells dance
On either side of the path
In the cool forest
They nod and sway in sunlight
Lifting their heads to the dawn

Meadows full of blooms
Larkspurs, Daisies, and Poppies
All create beauty.
So splendid a sight to see
In the Spring and Summertime.

Near the Dutch windmill
Daffodils and iris bloom
In the warm sunshine
During the sweet summer day
They look towards the blue sky

Waterfalls o'er stones,
Mossy and slick though they be
My eyes do behold;
Trillium of white and mauve,
All amid Running Cedar.

Castle In The Sky
Marian Nov 2012
I see the castle in the sky,
Way, way up so high,
Set up on a sand cliff;
Though so light it may look no one could it lift.

It is too way up high,
A castle in the sky,
I begin to cry;
I heave a surprised sigh.

The hidden sun (because of the dark-blue sky) hit the towers,
It is so beautiful it doesn't need or have any flowers,
The castle is too beautiful to be true;
Amid the sky of dark-royal blue!

The castle stands strong and tall,
I'll never forget the day you I saw,
Way, way up so high;
No wonder people call you Castle In The Sky!

Frosty Sunday Morning
Marian Aug 2013
A faint pastel sunrise in the sky,
It is so beautiful I'm ready to cry,
Winter here abounds;
There is snow all around.
Smoke curls from the old-fashioned covered in snow,
Little frosty--bitter breezes blow,
A snow-covered bridge runs across the frozen creek;
Winter is so beautiful and meek.
From here I can see the beautiful church covered in snow,
My cold cheeks are aglow,
My song of Winter here I sing;
On this Frosty Sunday Morning.
Beauty abounds here in the air,
With horse and buggies here and there,
From all around the song of Winter here doth sing;
On this beautiful Frosty Sunday Morning.

Sixteen sweet years
Of pink promises kept
"I dos" and tender, gentle vows
Wedding rings of gold
A wedlock between two lovers
Trailing wedding veils of sheer lace
Love within a burning flame
Kept alive throughout the years
Hard times seen through together
Quarrels and misunderstandings
Even tiny little differences of opinions settled
Never interfering with the love you share
Your days of love will never end
You kept your promise ever since that day
When you both held hands and said fervently
And wholeheartedly "I do"
Then two hearts joined and became one

While all the world sleeps in a pretty trance

The Rustic House
Marian Mar 2014
There it was in the middle of nowhere
All grown up with wisteria vines
In the summer when the wisteria would bloom
It looked like a beautiful fairytale
Daffodils once grew beside the concrete porch
And azalea bushes too
Forsythia grew near the concrete walkway
It's yellow blooms I used to pick
In bouquets for my Mom in springtime
Two or three bushes bearing white flowers
Once grew beside the house too
Inside it looked Victorian
Even though it was built
In the 1940s or 1950s
How surreal and dreamlike
It did look inside and out
Even though when I saw it
It looked like repairs were a necessity
The floors needed to be torn down and replaced
The house was in dire need of electricity
And in want of being cleaned and organized
Bags of trash and other things
Needed to be sorted through
The house needed a new roof and ceiling
The ceiling and roof were falling through
Some of the floors were collapsing
Or they would crumble if you tried to put
Even one of your feet on one of the brittle floors
Yet that was my favorite home of all
And I miss you since you were torn down
Just last summer
It seems longer or shorter in some ways
In other ways it doesn't
Even though I never lived even a day
Inside of your comfortable hominess
My Mother and her sisters and parents did
My Dad courted her inside those very walls
Which were torn down just last summer
I wished I could have lived inside those walls
Replaced only what needed to be replaced
Keeping as much of you as I could
But you were destroyed
And I never had a chance
Oh, how I miss you,
Dear little rustic country house
Which was like a home
And felt like home inside

3 Praise him with the sound of the
trumpet: praise him with the psaltery
and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and
dance: praise him with stringed
instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud
cymbals: praise him upon the high
sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath
breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the
Lord.

Buttercup (Acrostic)
Marian Apr 2014
Blessing from God came to this
Universe to fill my heart with love
To you I write this poem
Trying to show you I care
Ever shy of my presence
Rosy, posy little feline angel
Came to me to be my little friend
Unicorns dance just for her in fairyland
Pouring my words on paper just for you I write

Moonlight Deer
Marian Sep 2013
There is a deer standing in the moonlight beside a fir tree,
This is a beautiful place to see,
I love this place so;
The beautiful lake and the mountain covered with snow.
The moonlight ripples on the stream,
Everything seems to be a dazzling dream,
Beautiful clouds drift across the night sky;
The moon smiles from way up high.
Tiny breezes blow softly,
The stream flows quietly,
The moonlight ripples on the stream;
And everything is a like a dream.

Welcome to Fairyland!
Come dream the hours away,
Then dance with me and the Fairies across the cool sand,
And find the beauty in every day!

Come with me to Fairyland,
Where the Fairies will dance with me and you,
Be sunshine across the warm summer sand;
But I promise your days here will never be blue.

Walk with me to Fairyland,
Where days will never fly,
Where time is not just a grain of sand;
And where dreams and wishes will never die.

Hiawatha's Childhood
Marian Mar 2013
At the door on summer evenings
Sat the little Hiawatha;
Heard the whispering pine-trees,
Heard the lapping of the water,
Sounds of music, words of wonder;
"Minne-wawa!" said the pine-trees,
"Mudway-aushka!" said the water.
Saw the fire fly, Wah-wah-taysee,
Flitting through the dusk of evening,
With the twinkle of its candle
Lighting up the brakes and bushes,
And he sang the song of children,
Sang the song Nokomis taught him:
"Wah-wah-taysee, little firefly,
Little, flitting, white-fire insect,
Little, dancing, white-fire creature,
Light me with your little candle,
Ere upon my bed I lay me,
Ere in sleep I close my eyelids!"

The Fairy Of The Moon
Marian Aug 2014
The fairy of the midnight moon
She hides in those luminescent rays
Her wings are made of gossamer
Accented with beads and glitter
The fairy of the summer's moon
Wears honeysuckles in her hair
She dances upon the tops of trees
Smiling from her haven in the stars
Is it any wonder that she is bright
After all she lives hidden amongst
The same stars you see each night
For she's the fairy of the twilight moon

Get Well Soon
Marian Sep 2013
I hope you get well soon, my dears,
May your days be filled with cheer,
May the Fairies beside your bed dance and sing;
May your hearts with music ring.
This is my wish for you,
I wish you happiness and sunshine too,
May you have a happy day;
Love and joy I am sending your way!

At The Ocean
Marian Aug 2013
I sought the Lord
Beside the singing waves
Underneath a palm tree I knelt
The was shining brightly
The waves an anthem sung
The birds joined in the choir
Along with a ukulele
I felt His Presence right beside me
When I prayed I felt so happy
I read from His Word
No church was there
I just worshiped Him
Sitting in the cool white sand
The ukulele sung for me
And the birds lifted their praises
To Him
Our voices filling the air
Like angels singing in the clouds
I worshiped the Lord
Beside the singing waves

The Pond
Marian Jun 2013
The sun was setting
While I was watching the pond
The cattails danced in the breeze
The call of crickets sounded through the air
Mingling with that of tree toads
Oh the joy of these Summer evenings
I was staring at the mossy floor
Of the pond
Tiny little fishes swam back and forth
Birds twittered
And swallows were flying home
To their nests
Tranquility is all around
Mingling in the coolness
Of the flowing pond
Beauty abounds in the silence
Of the pristine evening
