Rose Flows
A classy kind of car ride:
1950's radio station at a comfortable volume.
10 minutes later and we arrive.
Sun block on.
Sneakers tied.
Water bottles in hand.
Round and round the lake we go.
Just he and I.
The sun is yellow
The grass is green
The sky is blue
All the colors in their rightful place.
It's more like a walk filled walk
than a talk filled walk,
but that's the way we like it best.
No small talk here.
Just big talk for us:
the speed of light,
the start of humanity,
the purpose for our existence.
Otherwise, we just walk
oh and sometimes we jog too...
(His legs are long,
so sometimes I have to jog
in order to keep up.)
We have our own routine
our own system
our own pace.
Just he and I
Just he and I
This poem is dedicated to my grandpa, my walking buddy

it wasnt the first text
rather the initial sext
that set me head over heels
no, i wont forget the next
for it surpased the rest
and passed the ultimate test

left me grappling with feelings
feelings that may never be entertained
except he felt the same
the same as i....

left me wondering, which did he love?
is it my name or my fame?
or was it the heart or face?
whatever it was,
it ran with the river tibet,
im gona go fishing today,
to look for the treasure,
the treasure to win him all over again
for he is mine.
handpicked i say, handpicked
fell in love with poetry a long time ago but never had the guts to write one...this is me defeating fear

Happiness arrives
tries to find room
in my house
but is only a guest
so must leave someday...

Sorrow arrives
and occupies the
room happiness vacated
but can live until
someone else comes knocking...

But YOU
will forever remain.
My substratum,
even when the house
exists no more
You, who I dare to call mine...

From unkown we reached here
To unkown we will go
Living just to watch and hear
Till it's become like a kind of law !

Successful in narrating our history to our children
What history could do if we kept our heads buried in the sand ?!
Registering events " where and when "
" with you we'll thrive " , how to be a climber without hands ?!

" For the future , work today "
But it's like telling a blinder :
" walk alone along the way ! "

Years passed and days come
Yet, we underestimate the significance of time
We weren't born to live as dumps
But to work our minds to reach the prime !

I sat down with you
In the coolness of the night air
Watching you sip Dr. Pepper
After a long day's work
I listened to the sounds of summer
Watched a few stars twinkling
In the jet colored sky
We were happily chit-chatting
About this and that
We were all together
Just us three
Oh, those summer evenings
Gone forever
Only shadows remain
Touching my heart

I wish I could be a better daughter to you...

I could be much better than I am!!! ~~~~<3

The cold grey of a January morn,
reflecting my spirit so utterly forlorn.
Was it pain I felt when I watched you leave,
or a chance for freedom and some small reprieve.

Only  Silence remained, as you closed the door,
heard your footsteps fade, like the waves on the shore.
Love never lingered, nor heard my plea,
it could only tear asunder,  in its bid to be free.

Now time owns my soul but you have moved on,
You embrace this new stranger and say he’s the one,
and if ere I wish the clock hands would turn,
to those flames of desire, where our passions did burn.

Now all I claim is this house full of tears,
with its memories and dust marking the years,
and my spirit remains forever bereft ,
of those things that you stole on the day that you left.

life moves on and we find new paths, meet new friends and love will inevitably spring forth again but some things remain forever embedded within the darkest depths of the soul.

I hear your shuffling footsteps right outside my door
I know what you seek with troubled heart and weary feet
Your trip has been long, draining your body sore
Come in, I've been expecting you... Finally we meet

You settle yourself, right there, opposite of me
Let me look at you... Let me observe just a little
I can see through you, read you like a book, almost instantly
You've come with resolve so frail, fragile and brittle

I know why you're here and the questions that plague
I know why you've travelled long, over land so far
I am aware of your dark secrets and truths so vague
You don't have to say... I feel the invisible scars

I shut my eyes as I summon the
powers of my ball
Let me recite my mantra to invite those who would come
I whisper things you may hear or not at all
Ahh... One has arrived, soon... Soon will arrive some

Looking into my orb with concentrated gaze
Breathe easy, Cracked One... Be not afraid of its sinister glow
You can see the energy surging in a torrential blaze
Rest easy, Lost One... Very soon it will all show

In one hand, I have my tarot cards on display
Don't be frightened when I begin to convulse uncontrollably
Of all the cards that fall, one would stubbornly stay
That one will have much to tell, together we'll see

I'm trembling now, remember... Be not wary
The card is now chosen, face down I lay it still
Take it but you may not understand the markings you see
I'll take it in my hand to make sense of it by feel

I have your card, now I must resume my chanting
You hear me speak in a language only known to a few
It may sound raucous, the words I'm mouthing
Be not startled, Broken One... We are almost through

It's time to close the ritual by touching skin with skin
Against your cheeks, you feel my warm touch
Look into my eyes and embrace the connection within
Now I know all, your eyes have revealed much

I have something for you... Now you must go
You look at me with confused eyes but still you must
Take this bundle... It contains all you need to know
Keep it safe, this parting gift to you I entrust

Leave now, don't take my next few words lightly
You must take heed these sacred words from lore
I say, "Do not open till the end of journey"
"Open only when in house, behind closed door"

I see you leave, disheartened by questions unanswered
Clutching the bundle, you slowly disappear in despair
I wish you well, dear Seeker... For all you've endured
Be safe and get home, you will find your answers there...

No fence, no boundary
No gate, no door.
A grain of sand
Is all I am.

No name, no fame
No pain, no gain.
A grain of sand
Is all I am.

No copyright, no issue
No love, no hate.
A grain of sand
Is all I am.
Thanks Joe for this humbling exercise. Made me think that in HIS scheme of things we are but, " a grain of sand"... What is there in this world created by us that we can be proud of. Just a false and meaningless ego...

The waves dancing on the shore
The seashells washing up on the sand
It all paints a picture of home
The boats far out to sea
Against a backdrop of citrus skies
It all paints a picture of my home
The seagulls crying out to each other
Beacons standing strong and tall
On rocky cliffs and reefs
It all paints a picture of my beautiful home
Holding hands on the cliffs
Overlooking the sunsets by the sea
This all paints a picture of my home
The pirates here of long ago
Searching for hidden treasure
Things forgotten under the sea
Sunken battleships, years of rot
It’s all a picture of home to me
The footprints in the sand
From where I take my morning walks
Barefoot, my skin against the gritty sand
This is all a painting of my home
The sandcastles of destroyed wishes
Hopes, dreams, and ambitions
Torn asunder by angry waves
It is still a painting of my home
Hibiscus crowns and lovers
Happy children dancing in the waves
Smiling, as they build their goals
Yes, this is a painting of my home
I’m lost across the endless water
Floating in a canvas of inky blue sky
Please, show me a picture of my home
Still mourning in the foam and froth
Praying for a new dawn tomorrow
Please, show me a painting of my home
I’m drowning in these waves
My ship is ready to be lost at sea
The waves are climbing higher
I look for one spark of light
To guide me—show me the way
Please, paint me a picture of home
But I cannot see in the wind and rain
The stinging of salt upon my face
No familiar light from the beacon
So I keep on praying faithfully
Please, paint me a picture of my home

Just a random poem... Don't have the time for this one,
But it was written around... 4:30? On September 10, 2014!!! ~~~~<3
I hope you enjoy reading it!! :) ~~~~~<3
sitting on the floor
wanting you back
wanting you more
feeling of tears all over my face
Then my eyes go blurry
as the tears slide down my face
the salty little tears
finally caress my lips
as  they drop to the floor
i cry a little more
and i hold myself tight
sobbing through the night
with his picture held to my chest
its all those memory's that i miss best
i hold it a little tighter
and the glass it starts to crack
slowly starting to shatter
i quickly lean back
glass is on the floor
glass is in my skin
taking on little piece
digging it in my skin
only love can hurt
hurt so much like this
cut so deep in
inside my wrist
the blood flows out
flows out just like my tears im finally letting go
of this love and my fears.
