This generation has become so lost,
The idea of perfect wrapped around,
Believing being perfect and better looking,
Is the only way out.

Because of this flaw and so much more,
We are the generation,
Who will teach our children,
To love and accept,
Everyone and everything,
No matter race, sexuality, weight or gender,
For being unique and original,
In their own special ways.

Because we know,
How much it hurts,
Being kicked and taunt,
To feel out of place,
Like somehow we just don’t belong,
And no one understands.

We are the generation,
Who will be there for our kids,
And let them know,
It’s alright to talk about their feelings.

We are the generation,
Who will not let them hide in the dark,
But bring them to the light,
Which is filled with delight.

We are the generation,
That will begin a new formation.
You are beautiful to me,
and i never told you this
but the way your scars
light up in the sun just
proves to me everyday of
how incredibly hurt you are,
and i hope it's not because of
me because that would break
my heart into a billion pieces.
and i pray that one day you
will open your eyes
and realize that what you're
doing to yourself isn't right
because you deserve the world
and i know that your cuts
sting because mine do, too.
but we can mend eachother's
wounds while lying on the beautiful
quilt your mother made the day before
she killed herself
as we watch sad movies at two in the morning,
crying our poor little selves to sleep.
not only crying because the movies
are devastating but because our
lives are.
the desire to want something better
for ourselves is torturing,
because we all know
that'll never happen.

my dad was a cold and hardened man
the concept of love, he didn't understand
he had a family, didn't care for them
I never wanted to be like him

my mom was neurotic, lost in space
she was what they call a real nut case
she had a son, but it's all just a blur
I never wanted to be like her
The Magic of a Child

The eyes and heart of a child are magical.
Look at a child’s fascination with all of the bright lights and colors of the holiday season.
Santa Claus the magic that they can believe in for in truth Santa is in all of our hearts.
The newness of the world that we take for granted seems so wonderful to those little eyes and hands.
Why does a child always want to pick up objects?
It is simple they want to explore their world.
Do not stifle the joy in a child’s heart but help to open up their world by reading and being a part of their lives.
Yes magic exists, in the innocence of a child’s heart and love.
most people
do not want to hear
views different from their own

so
   though you think otherwise
if you want something from them
   love  attention  business  money  ***
you tell them what they like to hear
to fill their needs
to please

yet
   after a while
you recognize
that with each time
you cater to the needs of others
you give away
   a part of your integrity
and that you better
   watch out carefully
lest you become
    no more
        than
a caleidoscopce

of their reflected selves
